Default Earphoria Promo CD

How much is it worth ?
It's the real deal, not a bootleg.

I wouldn't pay more than $20, for the official release. http://www.amazon.com/Earphoria-Live...e=UTF8&s=music

the original promo, however....hmmmmm.....hard to say. There were only 1000 copies so its is pretty rare...

there was one on ebay a while back that went for like $47....but I can't remember if it was mint. the auction is dead now.

If i want the music, I would also buy the retail cd, but this is the promo given out only to radio stations if i remember correctly. Haven't seen it for a while, a few years ago it was quite rare, usually only bootlegs have been offered...

gotcha...and yes, its still rare. i just can't seem to find any recent sales figures.

and also, i'm pretty sure it was a store promo to go with the video (vs. a radio promo)...since they went through the trouble of renaming silverfuck to silvercrank.

ok, i checked around and found 3 in the $49 - $59 range (VG+) and one mint for $174.

Value is a hard thing to quantify, but at least this gives you an idea of what other people are asking for.

i wouldn't pay over $100.

and i think $50-$60 is a good price these days.
they come up on ebay every now and then and usually there isn't too much interest.

I got lucky and scored one for $25 a few months back, and it's one of the 1000 I believe. When I get to my stuff on Tuesday I'll post my catalogue # for verification.

I personally think they're worth more than $25 though. My guess is they're worth about 75.

There are loads of really good bootlegs around, I could hardly see any real ones back a few years ago. I got mine from a former pumpkins collector, he had his copy from a record fair in the netherlands.

For my Earphoria CD the Cat. # is DPRO-12694 and DPRA-12694 on the actual disk.

On my Drown promo I've got : ESK 4733 and on the CD itself : DISP 001663.

Does any of this match what you guys have?

Drown: check

Earphoria, DPRO-12694: check
Earphoria, DPRA-12694: no

What code is there on the silver side of your Earphoria cd? My copies both say (in mirrored text): DPRO12694-2 MO L4A17N
and then, in another font, you have to look close to see this (also mirrored): Y 2-1-2 EMI JAX.

my copy is at my parents house but i remember the fakes going around before the re-release became surprisingly and scarily harder to spot, some fakes even had the DPRO-12694 and all.

i'm pretty sure the only way you could really tell if it was legit was the "emi jax" thing.

It used to go between 100 and 200 dollars so i guess that was a big incentive to create believable bootlegs, i don't know though for only that much why the bootleggers tried so hard with this particular release is beyond me, surely it would have been a pain to copy it so accuratley, lots of hours of work, i mean it's not that rare or that expensive.

I have what I believe to be an original that I got at Amoeba in Hollywood for $11.95 (still has the tag on the case). My CD matches all of the info CoolAsIceCream posted as well as the photo. As I recall, the official release of Earphoria was Nov 2002 and I got my 1994 promo copy after that. I always figured that my 1994 promo was mistaken for an official or 2002 promo.

BUMP.

So, the copy of Earphoria has both of these #'s on it, with the DPR ending with A and O as well.

Are you sure you don't have both on yours?

There is no DPRA on mine.

How about the code on the silver side of the cd? Did you check what your copy says?

Virgin DPRA-12694
(P) and (C) 1994 Virgin
Records America, Inc.

I have an original one too...unfortunately its at my parents house. I remember freaking out about its authenticity when I first got it and spent hours upon hours trying to verify it. At the time I bought it for about $150. This was around 2001. It was definitely DPRO...no DPRA. All the counterfeits around that time seemed to have the red instead of silver (or was it the other way around?)on the info on the cd. my memory sucks donkeys

Yours is a bootleg. It should say DPRO-12694 on the cd. The cd matrix should read : DPRO12694-2 MO L4A17N JAX EMI 2-1-2 Y. The matrix is a mirror image though so it depends how you read it, but i'm pretty sure thats correct.

no DPRA anywhere.
