Default New Complex in August

According to this Reddt post anyway. Couldn't find a source anywhere but this would be a pretty weird thing to lie about and I'd love more JCC so I choose to believe it.

Wow fuck yea, that albums was killer. PSA!! Hope it's more like that not and like boring clarinet jazz solos.

The first JCC album may be the best post-2000 SP related album (including official SP albums) period. But the inclusion of Frank Catalano on this makes me think it's going to more farty muso clarinet jazz and not the shoegaze/prog/jazz hybrid of the first album.

I'm excited but also confused why Jimmy himself hasn't announced it. I'm hoping the material on this sounds like stuff from the first record. Jimmy wrote something on guitar that he played along to at a PASIC show that was in similar vein so hopefully we can get more of that. The Parable is "ok" but has no replay value for me, I still revisit the first record.

Would be cool if JCC collaborated with Night Dreamer. That would be a unique sound.

OK, let me rephrase, it *could* be a unique sound. We won't know until it happens. Maybe they could bring in Iha for song or two as well.

Will it be starring my main man, Jack "Master" Bates? Will Grave Next Door be opening with thunderous doom dirge/hymns?

More importantly, do you guys dig Invader Zim?

Not going to make the mistake again of getting too excited about this until they announce whether this one is going to have a sound

I keep on saying, since a hallmark of what kept Pumpkins music interesting in the '90s was the genre-shifting after each album, the band should take advantage of the fact that they have a jazz drummer and lean into some jazz-fusion shit that Corgan hasn't tried before. He's probably better when he's challenging himself rather than "trying to sound like the Pumpkins" or "get into the mainstream" or whatever. It could produce something as distinctive as Adore.

Also, yeah, Life Begins Again is a solid album and definitely better than anything either Iha or Corgan did post-Pumpkins. The follow-up album, I liked it well enough, but not as much. Don't really know how to judge it, as it seems more traditional than the alt-rock/jazz fusion of the first outing, and I don't know enough about jazz to assess it as a jazz album. And if I try, some hipster like Slunken will probably mock me and ask me if I've ever even been invited to a real underground jazz club. I can only judge rock, because all I have to listen for is whether it goes up to eleven or not.

listened to LBA in full for the first time in a while last night & can attest it is indeed the best post-Machina offering anyone in or anywhere near "Pumpkins camp" has put out, if only for the fact that it is actually fun & enjoyable to listen to

& hell, Loki Cat is essentially an SP song and that's also in the top tier of the previously mentioned category!

There's a song named Accelerator under Jimmy's BMI Repertoire, associated to JCC. I guess it's one of the songs on this ep.

I thought everybody hated "Loki Cat," and that I was the only one who didn't.

Went to go grab the video for Paranoia for funsies to post in this thread but it looks like the JCC YouTube account is private now. If it's related to it being on the new EP that bodes really well for the sound.

Tbf have u ever been invited to play the piano onstage at an underground jazz club?

Oh yeah? Bet if u had it wasn’t even in the PRC where the underground is currently banned, so it’s even more.

So, like
