I did have a spare but we were 100 miles from home in the dark in the middle of nowhere. You shouldn't drive over 45 mph on a 60 psi spare. I made the best choice with the information I had at the time

Steve was very nice though, he took us to Sheetz to inflate my spare which I haven't used in years, then he switched out the rear and front left so he could get the car up on his truck. It could have been a lot worse. Being stranded in rural USA is not a joke

I definitely do that, too. I thought that was pretty standard! It would look incorrect otherwise. This is not my admission of being a loser, though.

I think my worst typing habit is probably excessive hyphens and parentheses (or even commas. See?!) I may have undiagnosed ADD because in my mind every point has a sub-point, and also I like to splice words together. And I'm physically unsettled if I leave it out.

I always roll my eyes at my husband for his going out of town car rituals

But deep down I am relieved not to have to think about it

The only time we’ve called a tow truck for a flat tyre is when we were already driving on our spare and because I was a stay at home mum with spare time, my husband reminded me every day for two weeks to get the regular one repaired, at a garage 5 minutes down the road, that I drove past most days. But the task was too boring and inconvenient

And then we ended up with a puncture in the spare. We weren’t in the middle of nowhere but it was a semi rural area where our kids had gone to a camp for their school concert band

We had a tow truck driver with lots of stories too

Since then my husband just never asks me to do anything with the car.

I feel like this admission maybe warrants more loser points than capitalising God

being uninterested in car maintenance is pretty understandable if you ask me.

Also GOD doesn't hear it unless you capitalize the whole word. It's in the bible or whatever i'm pretty sure

Republicans had recruited [Joe the Plumber] to run and thought his fame would help bring in enough money to mount a serious challenge. But he drew criticism during the campaign for suggesting that the United States should build a fence at the Mexico border and “start shooting” at immigrants suspected of entering the country illegally.

He was so far ahead of his time that he even managed to die of old age at only forty-nine.

I unpacked and arranged probably 4k worth of kid's toys today, and my oldest child gleefully tells our neighbor that she doesn't have any toys in her boring home, and please let her inside to play with their toys at her nice home.

I'm listening to the Blade Runner soundtrack and there's very little anyone can do about it.

The fact that Orbison's version of that song was finally released on a Nintendo-licensed album called "White Knuckle Scorin'" is something that continues to baffle me. Anyway Cyndi Lauper's version is the best one

I have an uncle that was a roy orbison impersonator. He occasionally got booked to do events, and would lip sync that song. It was weird as fuck. He's a strange man (my uncle). He was also one of two uncles i have that were magicians.

FTR the Bååt (Snakenborg) family were not Sorcerers. And their fortress, Vyborg Castle (Viborgs slott) is actually now in Russia. It was only Helena that ended up in England. But i think Merlin was long dead by then

Red face

Big Mandela Effect moment for me was recently rewatching that Orbison video and seeing that it was Connelly, not Shannon Doherty. I could've sworn that was why the video was so massively popular back then, that it had the 90210 couple, not just the guy, in it.

Never gonna complain about Connelly showing up in something, but

I've been eating standing up or sitting on the floor for about a month. I need to buy a dining table and chairs, but the set I want is 3k and I'm just refusing to look at cheaper options because I want this particular table set in an uncompromising way. I can't afford spend that right now, and probably shouldn't ever spend 3k on a table, so here I stand.

Doherty and Priestly played siblings on 90210. Would be kinda weird to see them make out. Unless you have an incest fet

Yesterday morning this strange sentence came to me and stayed stuck in my head: “Sometimes I’d like to run away but my legs are too local.” I didn’t know what to do with it, so I’m putting it here.

I suppose it could be the start of a slightly surreal poem. I'll give it some thought.
