I was on swim team for a year and liked it but not enough to continue. I'm not competitive, so the focus on winning ruined my enjoyment of swimming so I stopped. I also can't dive because it gives me nosebleeds every time.

No, basketball is all about correct form and alignment. It's the only way you can have a consistently good shot, really. Being acutely cognizant of what body parts are working and what makes a shot just right and trying to recreate that consistently - that's where I can get really lost in a workout and I can put in 3 hours like nothing. Thoughts just disappear.

But yeah this is not to actually knock weight lifting. It's all about what works for you individually. If it works for you, that's all that matters. I'm sure it can be fun as well, it just never really did it for me when I tried it. But then again, I think I just really fucking hated gyms and the people in them.

i wasn't competitive until 2019 when i heard this band from my state who were the same age as me drop a lush indie album with high quality songwriting and clear production. ever since then i have been feral.

my life continues to be a joke for God to laugh at. While camping in Shenandoah, my left rear (brand new) tire shredded on a back road. Somehow thank dog I had enough bars to call roadside assistance, but they only cover tows up to 29 miles, and there were no automotive places within that distance apparently. So I had to pay almost 300 bucks to get towed back to Maryland. My gal and I rode in the tow truck with Steve, who had one of those forked goatee things and a serious virginia accent. We learned all about how his wife stole his kid and falsely accused him of hitting her to the court, how he rides motocross, and how he loves hunting but he doesn't shoot bears cause he doesn't like the taste

yeah he was funny because that's his job but he only did it a lil but and spent most of the time playing music which was cool. the very good band was pretty good. i told tommy afterwards i kinda space out at stuff like that because i am so focused on the idea a HUMAN BEING is standing up there entertaining us all and i get fixated on mannerisms like the faces they make, how they move, and just deal with stuff they did not expect like people in the audience who think they are also funny

That sounds good (except I don't really get the belly button observation...) I usually space a bit at shows etc. but for different reasons, I guess. I noticed at the festival thing I went to recently that I didn't get at all spacey or dissociate or anything so maybe I'm building resilience or something.
