It appears Jeff Bezos has seen the truckloads of cash the Sonic movies have earned, and the buzz about the new Mario movie, and decided he wants his own multi-billion dollar video game adaptation for Amazon Studios.

Naturally, he chose probably the most beloved, profitable, long-running franchise of all time.*

I'm playing a game where I design and decorate mansions because I live with serious house-envy (though I'll settle for a 4 bed 2.5 bath w/ a finished basement). It's surprisingly relaxing.

I finally got around to Fallout 4 a few weeks ago with lots of depression time to kill. I'm about a hundred hours in now. It took me the first 20 or so to get into it, but it's a pretty fun game. Like ostensibly all Bethesda games though, it's fairly glitchy and that is annoying. I like the concept of building and populating settlements, but after awhile it does get kind of annoying, especially because I'm a completionist and want to populate all of them and make these ungrategul fuckers happy. A few of my settlements (Covenant and Hangman's Ally specifically) seem perpetually unhappy even though all their needs are being met. Covenant also gets hit by Raiders fucking constantly.

I think I'm near the end of the main story, so I've branched out and am trying to complete everything else major before I build the thing to venture into the Institute.

So, I've joined the latest generation of games and have purchased an Xbox Series X.

I haven't played any latest-gen games because none of the ones I want are in sale. So, I've only played games I was already playing on my Xbone.

I would think that running games made for the last gen on new hardware would mean barely any loading time. Or the games would look better. But so far, my Series X feels exactly the same as my Xbox One.

I just hope that the Xbox Prime X/Y or whatever doesn't come out next week.

Going from Xbox One/PS4 to Xbox Series X/PS5 feels like when your friend replaces their ex with somebody who looks weirdly the same but a little hotter.
