Not in my name, space kid, not in my name!

I was having a little chat with Bill last week about the album. He said it was completed in November, but had to push things back an extra couple of years so that he could finish setting up People and Their Cars. I said, God, right on! Krishna, right on! Mark, right on! He said "oh, like you're doing now?"

well maybe when he's done with Comedians in their Cars getting Coffee he can wrap up the Machina reissue as well

LOLOL jk, I gave up hope on that pages ago

& when I say gave up hope, I don't truly mean it, I do have some hope left it may one day actually come out, but it's in the same way I have hope that my country will adopt better gun laws & drop the regressive bullshit attack on Roe v Wade

happy June, everyone!

would be the most compelling thing they've done in at least 2 decades...

Here's an interview with Jeff, he talks about the new album and the creative process. I haven't finished listening to the whole thing, but he explains that nowadays they don't jam much in the studio while making an album. Billy starts it with a rough demos, then adds a drum machine, guitars and send them to Jeff and James to work on some ideas for each song. That's gonna be a starting point for the band to work on the songs when they get together, which can still change several times until they are happy enough.

Heard some of that last night. I do not claim to be a huge audio/gear expert, but from what I understood, he essentially said that he was not a fan of the cabs being in iso booths during the show.

Regarding what Forgotten Child pointed out, Jeff even said something like "when a band hits a certain level, you just don't jam in the room anymore" which truly explains the state of the band's music these days.

Certain level of laziness? Certain level of arrogance of the band leader?

And remember what can happen when very old bands still jam.

They actually said that's the traditional way of making an album and that most of the great albums were made this way, like a "studio creation".

You know you may have a point there. My favourite Pumpkins album has always been Makina, and as I recall, the whole thing was recorded in a recording studio. I like this approach to music making.

I think a key difference would be whether they jam at all to get ideas, and then improve upon them in the studio, or whether they all record little bits on their computers from their home studios and upload them for the Bald Lord's approval.

WHY

why wh why why wh yh wh wyh wyh why why why

i mean maybe i don't have evidence that jamming == better record, but it certainly seems like it would, doesn't it?

it's kinda hilarious when the drummer and the 3rd guitarist who LITERALLY nobody gives a steamy pooky about both seem to have the time to do 1 hour interview specials but not to jam in a room with the actual band
