How is there no such thing as grunge? Yes, the title was something the industry stuck to it, but there definately was a Seattle sound.

There was a certain kind of music labelled as grunge and (with the exception of Nirvana) it was pretty good. But isn't grunge more of a lifestyle?

there never was a seattle sound, there was just a loose "scene" of bands that collaborated or were given the title. pearl jam were arena rock, mostly an homage to 70s metal. mudhoney are a stooges rip off. soundgarden was a flat out metal band. screaming trees were a psychedelic rock band. ķ don't see your point.
