Default for anyone thinking of going to see them live

If you don't like the new songs much, don't bother. I saw them in Glasgow on Wednesday night and it was shit. Lots of people were leaving early, and there was quite a number of us hanging around at the back waiting for it to finish. The sound was really bad, bass was overpowering the guitars, fuck knows who they got to set the sound up but they must have no ears.

You can read more of my experience in the Glasgow thread in the Tour Forum. Anyway, just wanted to warn you guys, you may well be disappointed. I saw them in 2000 on the farewell tour and it was much better than this.

and you actually open your mouth to spill all of your hollow brained shit over the forum.

i was talking to the topic starter, since his opinion is obviously the most valuable and non-repetitive around here

also, you suck at sarcasm. big time.

Personally, I thought they were awesome on wednesday. It was a very emotional night for me as my grandad died that day, and I couldn't think of a more fitting soundtrack to that experience.

For the rest of us who didnt have a relative dying that day, it really wasn't the same, believe me.

if you've posted your experience of glasgow in the tours forum then why do you feel the need to come back with it here? if the sound sucked then yeah i feel bad for you, but there is no reason to think it will be the same at other venues.

The missus, who's never really been a fan, said it was the best gig she'd ever been to. Seems like you think you're speaking for EVERYONE when you say it was crap. I can understand why you didn't enjoy it, you don't seem to enjoy much pumpkins related stuff anyway, but for some of us it was a special experience. However, because of the nature of the internets, it's always the dissatisfied that are sounding off.

They're a big band, they should be able to get the sound half decent. If they cant even do that, I wouldnt hold much hope of them getting it right at other places.

Not true. I like the first 4 albums. That's over two thirds of their output.

My girlfriend has never been a big fan either and she wasn't impressed. She too commented that the sound was bad, especially on the opening number.

dude, they've played a shit load of dates the last few months and i can recall few complaints about the sound;.albeit it being a given that the residencies would be okay with them playing so many consecutive dates. honestly, i think you are generalizing here and again if that was your experience that night then it sucks. also, didn't you see them in london? if so, how was the sound then?

No I didnt see them in London and I wouldnt want to either. I dont want to see them again. The Glasgow gig was shit and not just because of the sound. They didnt play enough old songs (I enjoyed Hummer and Drown), but most of the new stuff just passed me by or downright bored me. And to those people who say the new version of HMM sounds good, you lie. It's still fucking atrocious. And they are a shit jam band. Boring as fuck.

i'm going to see them but I have to wait until they come to New York or CT. I was going to go to the Penn one but it's too much for me with all what's going on in my family, people getting married and etc. etc.
