Default Golden era SP's practice schedule

do we have any idea what the band's rehearsal schedule / commitment was back in the golden era? was it like 9-5 daily?

i know there are various asides in corgan's diaries like 'JC was fucked up last night and skipped practice today so i wrote disarm' or whatever

curious cause i had band practice today with this new group - very math rocky lads. i've never vibes with a band this well

only issue is we played for 3 hours today. could barely keep the arrangements straight. i love playing but not 3 hours straight you know

typing that out it sounds more bitchy than i mean it. but it gets tiresome n that

My band typically does 5-6 hours twice a week. But with at least one break. Gotta have breaks.

hanging out and listening to other music is also pretty important. learning about art, discussing the zeitgist, this stuff can last all day.

as far as litteal practicing - 12 hours with a guitar strapped around your neck can be back breaking when your older. but when you're young why not. I used to sleep with my guitar when i was 14....

The Adore practice schedule was certainly enough to prevent Kenny Aronoff from spending time with Cameron Diaz

16 hours a day. 7 days a week. pee breaks.

yet
In the studio they spend more time eating than recording. billy sleeps on the floor in food comas.

i think you're missing the poetic, emotional intent of this. we hit the snare on 2 and 4, thus we have more in common than a bricklayer would

you are low key disrespecting me with your comment. Don't give me shade with your virtual signaling. Just enjoy the world and add your weight when true disrespect is given. Best to you.

Billy is just a basement dork that got big because the entire universe aligned at the right time and had a talented drummer. Billy was literally living in a parking garage programming drum beats on a Dr Rhythm. That and all the connections he made would be the only difference. But what he was doing in 1985 is not much different than what folks are doing today with their computer in a basement.

Only half-true. Unlike 99.99% of his peers, he had the songs.

gold era SP drug schedule?

drop acid. pass out on the floor of the parking garage. wake up 12 hours later after halucinating a great band practice.
Jimmy woke up after 2 hours and went to go jam with Polka Dotta & The Scarry Kats.

a bit weird to rebut with "you're not STP" when the OP was made with the intention of Ram looking for answers for his own band/rehearsal schedules. paranoid's band is actually quite good w/ some pretty intricate stuff I imagine takes a bit of time to hone in on and honestly is probably more relevant to the OP than if we actually did know the ins & outs of SP & the infinite rehearsals 1997 or whatever

well i was looking for that sort of info; luckily we met again last friday and mutually agreed it went pretty long lol

but in a much more real, obsessed fan way, i am genuinely curious about how they prepared for gigs/wrote songs

well okay here's a good example dum dum, after the recording of MCIS finished, the band rehearsed for 3 days before heading to Reading Festival

so just rehearse 3 times and then go on tour for 3 years. you're good!!!!!
