I used to dislike reality shows like this. I must have had many blows to the head, as I now love it.

I'm really enjoying Kevin Can F*** Himself (I'm not being a prude, they are).

Basically a sitcom with a typical fat selfish slob of a husband and a long-suffering beautiful wife, except it's split between that multicam sitcom setup and a single-cam dramatic setup where you see how much resentment and pain the wife has built up. It's not that one version is "real" and the other isn't, but the lighting, acting, etc. change. And it's set in Worcester, MA, so, be ready for the accents.

Just finished the first of two seasons so maybe they fuck up the second half, but so far so good. My only complaint is that one non-sitcom plot involves a problem with the flow of drugs in the city, and there is no fucking way there is, as depicted, only one supplier of Oxy for Worcester.

I binged all of Servant last weekend and it’s not worth it. I waited four seasons for some sort of m night shamamamamam twist but one didn’t happen. The acting was good though. But the pace was slow with no payoff.

Finished this last night; I found it to feel like "Tom Clancy but even dumber," which is not necessarily as insulting as that sounds. It was fun! It's full of what I used to think of as "tv acting" and "tv writing" before this whole era of prestige tv. It feels like NCIS or something. And the story just gets dumber and dumber as it goes. "The Power" on Prime Video is kind of interesting. Based on a book. The story involves teen girls all over the world suddenly developing the power to generate electricity out of their hands. Some are so powerful they can shoot lightning at people (like a Sith). It leads to a whole lot of young women refusing to take shit from men.

The book is very dark. It kind of makes the point that when anyone is given exceptional power they will abuse it. I'm not sure if the TV series is going to keep with that tone. So far the tv series has changed one of the most ambiguous characters, played by Toni Collette, and made her a bit less 'bad'. And they've added a trans character. The book could be interpreted as a bit Terfy.

Have not started it yet... hanging onto it for a dry spell. Good to know it's good.

In the meantime, I completed the original run of Twin Peaks, and only fell asleep 4 times.

Episode six is this Friday, and according to the cast it's when things really go buckwild. I can't wait. Though I've seen some rumors of some other stuff coming later in the season that might help explain the five-season plan, and I'm... wary.

Coop is such a wonderful character. You gonna tackle The Return next?

Finished. It wasn't perfect, but I was not disappointed. Felt like real, classic Trek.

it would be a huge letdown if they don't capitalize on the setup for another possible story with Seven as captain. According to the rumor mill, Paramount was shocked by how well season 3 was received and actually has no plans to continue 25th century Trek, although they did buy the domain Star Trek Legacy while this season was airing
