I figured as much but it felt weird. My knowledge of languages is pretty much based on how it feels and not how the rules are. Now that I'm actually learning a new language for the first time in 20 years I have to start out with learning the rules again and it's fucking weird

On the one hand, I think if people can understand what you mean, you're using the language correctly. On the other, I get that if you're learning a new language, you're kind of on "probation" and want to get it "right" before you feel comfortable relaxing and not being grammatically perfect. Learning it well enough to fit in and not sound awkward, I suppose.

MAGA is too dumb to have the cognitive dissonance they should be having about this if they were intellectually honest. The idea of a president punishing a businessman for speaking against him is so plainly authoritarian that I don't know how they could read Trump talk about cancelling Musk's contracts for criticizing him and still see him as the "freedom" guy. The idea of a billionaire being entitled to policies that help his businesses because he supported a politician is so plainly oligarchic that I don't see how they can see Musk pout about "he would have lost without me, how dare he eliminate EV tax credits?" and still think he's the "anti-corruption" guy. The very premise of the Trump/Musk fight can't be understood without realizing that these are both evil, corrupt, authoritarian people, and yet right-wingers will only at best realize that one of them is.

I don't know if I buy into the idea Musk was throwing out there that he'll outlive Trump anyway. He seems like the perfect candidate for a Chandler-style exit, whereas the Don could very well spend the next decade or two signing blank printer paper in his underwear like Fred.

not sure yet. The defense attorney said she needs to do more discovery, so the next court date is June 30th. They might set a trial date then. For now I’m basically in limbo, just waiting to find out when I’ll have to testify.

Nate Silver says AOC is in a good position to make a run. That seems far fetched to me, but the Dems are so at the bottom of the barrel in terms of traditional liberal candidates at this point I mean I just don't know.
