how many of the 'old fans' bought machina?? the sale numbers at that point sucked, and many that bought the album thought it was a turd... it was NO SD or MCIS. comercially, SP was done with Adone. Machina was a nail in the coffin. lables are just NOT interested to put money into this. it actually dilutes the value of the HIT sp albums. lables know they'Re better off waiting for anothe SD & MCIS reissue - LOL

you're right about it maybe being an odd prospect for labels, but it seems absurd the band couldn't just fund this one itself. i mean, absurd in the grander scheme of things where most bands with hardcore fanbases dying for something like this would take it on independently, in the realm of Corgan & co it's utterly unsurprising

I mean, The Weeknd just dropped his new album streaming only, with CDs I think end of January and vinyl not until April, he just wanted it out there.

Why not release it streaming and then actually gauge interest in people purchasing physical copies?

Or release download version and charge people $20. I'd paid that. I'd probably pay $50.00 for a FLAC version.
