yeah so i was too fat to play guitar for a long time but now i can play again

i have a really nice old martin guitar but years of abuse in bad humidity when i was using drugs has made it have terrible intonation.

i decided i might fix it up later, but got a new cheapy guitar that's coming tomorrow.

i went to sam ash and tried out like 20 guitars under $400 and this was the best, the Yamaha FG830:

pretty much $300 everywhere, I got it from here because they supposedly check intonation and stuff before they ship. guy called me after i ordered, too, which was nice of them. was surprised to find a rosewood fretboard on any cheap guitar. my favorite

I've never thought about it much myself, but agreed. Maple has too much friction imo.

got the guitar and played for a few hours feels nice. super easy to play and sounds great. obviously not the best sounding guitar in the world but after playing a guitar with terrible intonation for a while it sounds like heaven

I'm a weirdo in this regard. I know rosewood is a softer wood but I feel like my fingers stick into a maple neck and really allow me to get full mobility and traction
