in the meantime, the rest of us can simply dream of the remaining lies on our souls being burnt away so that we may finally be pure enough to enjoy this latest offering, Crap Your 'Roys

As for me and my dad

We maintain that Purp Blood is some of the best big willie since golden era SP

And birch grove is moving. And “she takes the sweet outside”

Importantly, there’s seem2be some tru emotion coming out the big willie, even if his vocal delivery and its place in the mix are outright offensive in every way

Everything since Machina is basically unlistenable. Zeitgeist had some moments, but that's about it.

Zwan fucking blows.
Pumpkins 2.0 fucking suck.
Billy's solo shit sucks.
And the worst of all of it is Cyr. Complete and utter garbage. Bad songs. Bad hooks. Bad instrumentation. Bad mix. Bad themes.

This is coming from someone who is/was a complete Pumpkins fanatic. I used to own 200+ CDs/imports when I was younger. Saw them in concert countless times. I love this band, but I'm not going to pretend to like this garbage Billy has been spewing for so many years.

I think missing the live tour really made it hard to judge in full SP context. Everyone lauded the Paris show versions of Zeitgeist in 2007.

Billy's "wait 5 years, and see how ahead of the future I was." is paying off.

He is the Kanye of rock.

Cyr is your typical 9 to 5 job album. Just trying to fund the kids' college funds.

Cyr the album was probably the biggest flop in Billy's career. It didn't even chart.

I think the fact Billy had to pull out this Mellon Collie sequel just shows how bad Cyr's response was. It's like he knew it wasn't going well. I think it's absurd he needs to make a 33 track album, but he probably wants to keep this Sumerian deal. Just make a solid album. I don't think Billy has it in him to make a solid 33 tracks these days. Hell, Shiny Vol. 1 was only 8 tracks, and I still can't call it a solid album. It doesn't seem like Billy knows how to edit himself.

I initially liked it more than most people here and listened to the whole thing a few times but I have no desire to listen to it ever again outside of a few tracks like Anno Satana.

It's like a singles collection by a band with no great singles.

I genuinely like the direction, sound and vibe - it's SP1 quality at times - but an album needs some variety, adventure and "meat".

Cut it down to 10 tracks and it's a singles collection by a band with 10 pretty good singles and zero great ones.

Cut it down to ten or twelve tracks, make the intros longer, mix down the vox, use real drums, a few more guitars, and it would be passable.

As it is now, I struggle to think of a time when I'm going to listen to it. Saying that, I would rather hear it than Shiny 1 again. That hurts my ears.

Cyr has 20 tracks. I love 8 of them and I bought those as digital downloads. One reason that I will probably buy the physical CD is to have the lyrics on paper in front of me. But . . . . I still haven't decided to make that purchase yet. My focus right now is the Machina re-issue.

"Save Your Tears" might be the best SP 2.0 song. Other than that, the rest of the album remains dull and forgettable. I actually find it kind of impressive he managed to make a twenty song album with exactly one track that sits so high above the others.
