I mean yeah it's obviously subjective, but also you picked a lot of songs that most people don't like and left off some serious fan favorites, so it's probably not that hard to understand why people don't like it, right?
It's like if I did an MCIS/TAFH two disc "reconstruction" and left off Porcelina and Galopogos in favor of Blank and Said Sadly, but kept TOASE and To Forgive while shafting Mouths of Babes and Cherry, and then ended the collection with Pennies. |

SLN, when I try and download your Machina mix, the hosting site is setting off all the bells and whistles on my anti-virus.
Is that download location still safe to use? |

FWIW I honestly don't think Age of Innocence is that great either though. It is a good song and conceptually I really like it, but they don't pull off the execution well-enough to be a satisfying closer to the album or band. It's probably the second worst/least compelling final track on a SP1 release other than My Blue Heaven.

I am pretty sure that 9/10 SP fans have mental illness or personality disorders.... it's basically the crux of their music

The reaction here alone is going to be worth the reissue delay. Everybody's going to throw a fit over how much they hate it for X or Y tracks not/being included.
It's going to be beautiful. |

Seriously, though. I love My Blue Heaven. I think it suits that whole turn-of-the-century vibe Billy was going for with Mellon Collie. |

If it wasn't for all the repetitive lyrics, that song would be good. It's not.

With Every Light is a good song. It’s an odd fit for this album though.
Cryin Tree of Mercury is loads better than I remember. Glass & The Ghost Children is a moody centrepiece but does it justify it’s runtime? I enjoyed the live flourishes but I’m not sure either half is any good. I Of the Mourning used to be a standout but I get nothing from that song these days. It plods. Idk. Making a 70min tracklist out of this batch of songs is hard work. Last edited by VoxUpDoc : 08-21-2018 at 06:12 AM. |
