Exclamation Me bitching about eBay

son of a bitch, the n64 game i got on ebay was a rental copy and was all dirty and had sticky goo on it
and even some inside near the contact parts
i might give my first neutral feedback assuming the game works
it had a magnetic theft strip on the back so i peeled it off and it left all this sticky gunk
that i spent 30 minutes trying to clean off, it still wont come off
and some of that goo is on the label so i cant clean it off without destroying the label
!!!!!!!!!!!!
stupid ebay
i wouldnt have bought it knowing it was a rental
I asked the seller what the physical condition was
she said "the label is a little worn"
she didnt say it was sticky and had stupid rental stickers on it and goo
the goo is pink
at least its not white and crusty

Any of you guys have a shitty experience on eBay?

How did that happen? I use Paypal and would like to avoid such an occurrence.

This other time I bought a SP promo CD and when it came the cover had a dent punched into it from one of those tabs on the jewel case cover that holds the booklet in place. Know what I'm talking about? That pissed me off.

Then another time recently I ordered something from China and the guy didn't send it for 2 months til I finally hounded him a certain number of times, then it arrived in 1 week. Argh!

i bought the Daughter flexi on ebay and never received it. the guy has previous, good feedback so i hadn't any reason to argue. He said he posted it (from the US) and i never received it (in Canada). Because i thought that maybe the post was delayed (as usual, canada post sometimes sucks, and it could've been sitting at the border as thats happened before) i ran out of time to get any money back from ebay since you need to call ebay on it within 90 days or less. Mediation would have done nothing (him: i sent it out me: i never receieved it) so what could we do? The only other option was to file a claim through the US post...etc...etc.

So i took a loss and chalked it up as me being an idiot for not getting shipping insurance in the first place. It was quite the sum in Canadian dollars since the US dollar was much higher at the time.

I knew it was used.. but her description of the physical contition was misleading. If the game works I won't give negative but I might give neutral.

Oh yeah this other time, it wasn't through eBay but I ordered this gameboy flash cart from a store online and they never sent it and ignored all my email and I got in contact with the manufacturer and they hassled the store and they still didn't do anything so the manufacturer took them off the list of reputable dealers and he sent me a free cart so I still got the product but the online store stole my money.

This other non-eBay time I tried to buy an iPod from this guy and he just took my money and disappeared but I blame myself for that one cause it was freakin dumb of me to try.

This other time I had a bad experience with this Pumpkins collector but eventually got the item. I wanted to leave neutral but he had this thing where he refused to give feedback unless you gave it first, so I was forced to give positive. That pissed me off.

Mine is hooked up to a credit card instead of a bank account. I don't know if they do it now but when I first signed up you couldn't use a Canadian bank account even tho their site let you register and set it up. It wasn't working and when I emailed them they said it wasn't possible. They should take the option off their site if it's not possible, jeez.

Actually I'm not 100% positive that was the cause, but it happened right after I did some ebay shopping where I switched Mark's paypal account to reflect my billing info...a week prior to that his boss also got his paypal hacked and stolen, and there's no other way that my info could've possibly been stolen any other way.

and yeah, paypal ripped me off for $1300.

That's fucked up, how did that happen?

Luckily whoever got my info was stupid and my bank is awesome so they refunded me the $100 they spent with my money...but the investigation is still "pending" and I'm not sure if I'll ever find out how/where they got my info from. =\

I first used nail polish. Then I used isopropynol or alcohol, same thing. Maybe I could try my 99.9% stove fuel I bought to clean bearings. It would probably disintegrate the cartridge too though. Argh. I got the pink goo off, except for on the label where it would destroy the label if I use anything but water, and water does nothing.

i bought a watch through a power seller that also happened to be the largest dealer of apple computers on eBay. someone used a phony/stolen credit card to buy something from them, so paypal froze and took all their money.

there was an expected five to six weeks delivery on my watch, so by the time when i looked into it, it was too late for any recourse through visa or paypal.

I guess I should get around to lugging out my N64 and seeing if the game works. Man that thing is so clunky compared to the cube and slim PS2.
