I don't think Cyr works 100% but I dig it nonetheless. Obviously I have to temper my expectations for modern SP and it's a shame James/Jimmy aren't being utilized here more but regardless. I appreciate Katie Cole being part of it, I really dug her addition to the 2018 tour.

So Cyr's your throwaway technopop single and I'm not impressed by it.

Color of Love's way better. Kinda feels like a nod to 80's Cure.

I'm remembering back on the spnexus site, when he was talking about Day For Night, he kind of implied he wanted that to be an 80's goth/new wave album. I guess we're here.

To be honest, I like the two songs, Colour of Love definitely stronger than Cyr. Ok, it's netphoria, but why all this hate? I think it's pretty awesome that they always change slightly, at least in terms of genre. I have to say that I come from the synth / new wave corner and maybe thus approach the sound more openly. At least I have more access to the songs than to the first Shiny Vol. 1 songs.

The best thing about this is that with two singles and a video accounting for one whole "countdown" slot, along with Billy's IG mentions of how it ties into the new album, it's more likely one of the last countdown slots will be the Machina reissue.
