I very much doubt Jimmy wrote that.

Kinda like Cyr tbh.

Maybe that’s how he signs off every sentence in real life.

But seriously, “And this is Jimmy” is petty enough to be something Bill would say to a person praising Jimmy and criticizing TFE.

I thought we'd established that was a PR person [linda/etc] saying that 'this', in reference to the post which was a clip of CYR, was jimmy playing

All these fuckn announcemrnts... machina, sry i am sick of hearing these old songs and outtakes .

Mcis 3, pfff....i have really lost interest with time. Cyr would have been a chance to bring the band back but he decided to do it all on his own....

This is bc solo and jimbo doing what bill wants.... sad but true, .....
Now again, jim and bully recording....no hint that jamz or jeffoi are even involved......

Yes.

They're just making Zeitgeist all over again. Let's not forget that was the official "return to the norm", the big sound, they even used the same 24-track tape recorder that MCIS was recorded on.

Hi Linda!

i can't wait for the album to come out, sound like bland over processed loud vocal clunky constant metal guitar shite, thanks bill and jim, then them to go on tour, james plays a sexy little lead over the top, and it completely elevates the song

Yup. James' involvement seems little more than a PR tour once in a while.

I honestly hope the Archival stuff are things like recording sessions and rehearsals. Are there any real live show gems that are unreleased? Rough sounding live shows on vinyl sounds atrocious.

- Drums on new records are done
- Jeff & James are contributing remotely from the West Coast
- 2 archival releases are mastered and ready to go, waiting on production issues for the vinyl to announce. These will be limited based on orders received in a set time. Should be more to follow

- the drums will be compressed to fuck
- james is on one zoom call where they play the song back to him thru a laptop mic. it's badly compressed when it arrives in CA. he gives a perhaps sarcastic thumbs up
- they will be shows we already have, but the selling point is that they're on vinyl. there'll be a $200 signed edition that sells 7 copies

All of these thoughts are right in line with where I was at... how can there any Billy/James interplay with him across the coast to where these songs are anything more than Zeitgeist spread across 33 tracks?

Damn nervous about this, guys. I say nervous because it's being fused to Mellon Collie and billed as the third in that trilogy (when there's clearly no tie between MCIS and Machina save for utilization of this theoretical Zero/Glass thing, which at the time in 1234123515 Machina interviews, he neverrrrr mentioned that Machina was a sequel to MCIS) and you know this just won't hold water.

Sigh. You need the original four jammed into a proverbial Cyclops Sound Studios or CRC to have any attempt at getting back some semblance of the magic. But Billy and Jimmy with Howard in Nashville and James and Jeff across the country is not that, I'll tell you what.

And agreed: my desire for live stuff pressed to vinyl is VERY low. Granted, I'll wait to judge - as there could be some awesome stuff that we're unaware of. Depends on execution for me: artwork, sound quality, dates selected, etc. But, as Principal Skinner says here:

1- thank you Forgotten Child for editing that video - that's seriously cool. earlier i was trying to watch the full one but just didn't care enough to go beyond 15 seconds

2- totally agree with Ram27 and Raskolnikov on what is most likely to happen here and it is such a lame move to retcon this and try ride the coat tails of MCIS at this point

3- vinyl only for archival releases is annoying. i guess i get it, but i'm not about to buy a record player just for this stuff and i don't imagine i'll buy a vinyl record that i can't play

4- when corgan closes with ciao, it makes me think of this:

He said you can "order 100 copies if you like" ...so his business model is to sell vinyl wholesale to fans/whomever? Does this mean there are going to be eBay resellers flogging "limited edition" archival releases?

I have no desire to listen that interview.

Hahha...as i said... james, jeff arent contributing...maybe some keys here and there.

But a big guitar interplay or jammin??? No way...

It will be a zeitgeist follow up,...... it willbe another 3 star album that proves again that this is a bolly solo fuck...

And best of all: strawtits is heavily involved, even writing lyrics at this point

I'm down for some archive vinyl. Hopefully they come with a digital download though.

But also... Jimmy recorded drums for 31+ songs in 16 days? So... 2 songs a day?

HMMMMMM

Scalpers and eBay guys can order a billion copies if they like. As long as you order within the 3-4 week window you're guaranteed a copy.

Wait who said that?

Just looked up her hilarious wikipedia.

-She basically doesn't exist outside WPC's circle.

-Strawbeer isn't even her real name. She's Linda Michelle Rowberry. LMFAO

It seems he basically wants to take fans money but not the entrepreneurial risk associated with doing business. Noice.

Wouldn’t digitals distribution be cheaper for them? They can still do the preorder thing if they want and then send em to u personally, right? Is it a piracy thing? Cause won’t ppl just rip the vynil and share that, anyway? Trying to figure out why they want to insist on vinyl only for the archive stuff

He probably thinks a limited vinyl-only edition gives it a sort of exclusive allure. And being essentially a print on demand operation makes it a quick safe money grab.

Digital distribution is far less lucrative, I bet.
