it annoyed me reading that in the magazine, then hearing later his mentions of "this time" being about the band breaking up, "with every light" about his mother etc.. it's pretty fucking obvious that with all the machina material released that a good majority of it wasn't all just about this stupid fiction story/mystery BC put together in his head.

i never took the time to read all that drivel even though i loved this band during that era.. not even sure if anyone ever got a cliff notes version of what the supposed mystery was..

from what i gather, the album was supposed to be a soundtrack of sorts to a "play".. a love story where the protagonist is named "glass" bla bla bla...

how about this machina chart? anyone remember this or see it's significance?

It's self explanatory.

this guy may sell his work, i have no idea but you can view his gallery here- http://www.kafanov.com/#/medium-paintings-kafanov/

this picture is among my favorites, i actually like all of them but this one always stood out a little bit-

Yeah, all the art from MCIS-Machina was amazing. Really fit and enhanced the vibe of the album

This doesn't even make sense.
For example, why is "Home" linked to Alone positive and epiphany but not to peace or love.
And why would Blue Skies be linked to Alone positive and not loss of balance? That song sucks and is hard to listen to; it definitely upsets aural balance.

Can't remember his name was posting here for years. The guy who is really into all the E6 bands.

He's way to into this stuff, has to be the worlds leading expert on the Machina bullshit.

A few years ago he put out like his final opus and the definitive track list of what the album was meant to be.

Feel sorry for anyone who still can't see that Billy pulled all of this out of his ass an it was never going to be finished. Even if he did finish that terrible cartoon I can guarantee it would never have explained anything or even fit in with the crap that came before it.

also i think bill kind of correctively oversteers whenever he's faced with any kind of commercial/artistic failure, which i guess Adore was being considered at the time

when teargarden didn't do much, he put out what was (to him at least) a full album of "new old" pumpkins music. then monuments fails he gets jimmy back on board and they tour around playing more or less a greatest hits tour

makes sense after nearly losing jim forever and seeing the huge dip in sales/popularity that was Adore that he'd go crazy with the same over-indulgence/self-aware posturing stuff that made put him on top of the world in the first place

and yeah maybe there was a pill or two involved

Whenever a thread like this pops up, it always amuses me because I usually read it in the same room as the person who won the Machina contest.

You think SD was pure BPD and not drugs? I'm not sure..and personally I think Adore is too apologetic for benzos. I think Adore was the sober album and SD was touched by psychedelics.

Some of the versions of Apathy's Last Kiss sound exactly like peaking too. Serendipity.

My partner won it when she was 17. We initially became friends because we both posted on the oboard, and I wrote her an e-mail about it.

Her prize was two tickets and backstage passes for the final Metro show. She couldn't attend because Billy wouldn't fly her in from Europe, so she gave them away to an oboard moderator called ****** (thru the eyes of ******).

****** and a bunch of other oboard kids felt sorry for her, so they convinced the main admin to get in touch with the SP camp to give her a Machina lithograph, which was what the runners-up (from 4th to 10th place, I think) won. 2nd and 3rd places got much nicer prizes, like a guitar. Anyway, Billy agreed to it, but then he screwed that up too and addressed the litograph to "Maria" (that's not her name).
