I have a 5-6' drift blocking my garage door. I need to buy a backhoe.

DC people and snow. Always hilarious.

Took me literally 7 minutes to get .15 miles yesterday. Our street wasn't plowed. Still amazed I managed to avoid the cars lining both sides of the street. And that's after it took me 10 minutes to get my car out of its street parking spot.

Today was similar with the parking spot but at least the street had finally been plowed. Probably gonna have to do it again as I just slid into a spot that still has a fuckton of snow around it. fuuucccckkkkk

I guess it's funny if you are from somewhere with a lot of wintery precipitation, but DC only gets a really big snow once every 5 or 10 years. It didn't snow at all the last two winters. Last night we got between 4 and 5 inches, and that is a pretty sizeable accumulation for this area. So it's just not really that important for local governments to invest in some sort of uber response system for winter weather.

I am now feeling wrathful at the snow however, as it is preventing me from going down to VA to see my girl tonight

fucking black ice everywhere probably couldn't even get my car off my street

I'm fine without snow. I would prefer not to get up an hour earlier to shovel the driveway and scrape my windshield in order to drive through hellish traffic.

Weather today in Orlando was ideal winter weather for me. Mid forties with the windchill. Floridians panic though when it dips below 70. As soon as it hits 69 degrees, they blast the furnace and every building you walk into is stiflingly hot.

as a floridian who has lived in especially snowy areas of the us for the last four years, i can say with certainty that snow is the best part of winter unless you have to drive, shovel, or work outside. i have to do none of those, so a snowy winter is a magical wonderland. otherwise it's just cold and that sucks

Just spent about 2 hours chipping away a foot of ice that my car was sitting in. I used a garden rake and a trowel and then busted the hell loose.
