Default most touching moments 1988-2000

when you see the band dynamic at work
the toil
the tedium
the misery
the melancholy
the unstoppable drive to try to dare to dare for a little more

"A dog's mouth is cleaner than a person's mouth? Yeah, I often pick up rolled around bones and chew on 'em for a while."

I started touching myself a lot around 95. Continued at a furious pace until 2000 and beyond.

I don't like this tour very much but "1979" as the final song, with Jimmy playing guitar as well, always gets to me.

like when you see billy's vision realized, or when you see genuine love and kinship with the original 4

he remains very conflicted imo. who knows if his failures as a person and an artist are intentional

Perhaps the most dynamic thing we've seen since the clips of Billy playing drums over Mayonaise on Vieuphoria?

I thought it was touching how Shame is about the time in 1996 when Billy found James had eaten all his penis shaped pasta on the tour bus and Billy was so upset that he had to write a song about it.

The first 6 minutes of the final show.

I love that they opened with MCIS then Rocket, as a solid homage to their best earlier sets

True.

Also, "The Last Song" with William Corgan Sr. is quite touching.

I wish the last 6 minutes of the show were documented - so far, every version I have heard was incomplete with "Silverfuck" cutting off.

"Children who practice self-indulgence (masturbation) previous to puberty, or the period of merging into manhood or womanhood, must pay the penalty of nature's violated laws at that critical period. Many sink into an early grave, while others have sufficient force of constitution to pass this ordeal. If the practice is continued from the age of fifteen and upward, nature will protest against the abuse she has suffered, and continues to suffer, and will make them pay the penalty for the transgression of her laws, especially from the ages of thirty to forty-five, by numerous pains in the system, and various diseases, such as affection of the liver and lungs, neuralgia, rheumatism, affection of the spine, diseased kidneys, and cancerous humors. Some of nature's fine machinery gives way, leaving a heavier task for the remaining to perform, which disorders nature's fine arrangement, and there is often a sudden breaking down of the constitution; and death is the result." (Solemn Appeal, 1870, p.63).

To this day I've never allowed myself to grab any recordings of the last show out there. Held out for Metro DVD, now holding out for the Machina reissue. Hoping it's on there in its entirety. In an odd way, I feel like once I listento/watch that I can, I dunno, consider the band well and truly dead or something, and walk away.

That's why BC will probably never release it

seeing as, according to him, it's not the final show, they did 8+ more years of stuff equal in quality to that stuff

It kind of sucks that the only record of the end of the Pumpkins is heavily punctuated by screaming idiots and bad quality
