Default Remember how terrible American Gothic was?

This has to be one of the worst Pumpkins songs ever. It sounds like a bad Jar of Flies AiC ripoff and it goes absolutely nowhere

"You know I'm right
I can't be wrong
Put up your dukes
You're not so strong"

Corgan has been subliminally telling us that he'd fight people for disagreeing with him and that disrepespect WOULD CAUSE VIOLENCE in real life all along!

If you listen closely to "Sunkissed," you can also hear him whispering beneath the mix, "any unauthorized copies of this EP are BOTTLEG ILLEGAL."

also the way he butchered arguably one of the best SP2 songs on record is unforgivable. His enunciation is disgusting. "I just kkka-can't help say so"

the instrumentation is nice but the vocals are remarkably remarkably horrible

It's actually alright. Pox needed guitars tho.

Bloody loved this EP, thought it was awesome. This is the best song on there!! That chorus groove is brilliant.

Oddly enough I have found a clip from an interview they did on The Hour way back in November 2008 which Billy states:

American Gothic was actually legitimately very good, every song. So no, I don't remember. Just another garbage thread brought to you by BurtSampson (TM)

Imagine thinking that Again Again Again is a good song. And thinking The Rose March is not overproduced garbage

Yeah no, the whole thing is great. Pick a different battle cause you're really off base with this one.

the chorus is ok, rest of the song is bad

it has the backbone of a good song, but does not deliver. even the singing is almost good, besides being so on top

lol the bridge

it's the opposite of gestalt

2/5

There’s no reason why he wrote so many solid acoustic songs during the residencies and decided to use these instead

I've always liked American Gothic, have always been a big fan of both Sunkissed and Again, Again, Again. Most natural music SP has made post reunion in my opinion

The production is horrific and every song from the Residencies is better. Listen to those instead.

Only song I remember from the residencies is "99 Floors," and find that one boring.

No because that EP was the epitome of forgettable

Rose March is the only thing I recall. And there were a ton of better tracks from the Residency shows he could have used to make it a fleshed out full album.

I think it's decent. I mostly preferred it to Zeitgeist because it leaned towards a more thoughtful and delicate style, kind of like the Chicago songs, as opposed to overblown RAWK shit.

Still not really worth listening to

residency rose march. love that song soooooooooo much

ruined in the studio.

then again. we say this "ruined in the studio" and then we get william patrick corgan strummer boy and we complain that it's bland.

he should just do a siameses dream 2.

This was back when I would burn stuff from iTunes to a CD to listen to in my car. I remember the first time I heard that "I just kkka-can't" part, I actually thought there had been some kind of error when I burned the CD. I had to go back to the song on iTunes to confirm that was actually in there.

You couldn't enjoy him before he came out? Is there something about repressed sexuality that you don't agree with?
