I have the Orchid pressing but alas, no turntable at the moment, so I can't say anything about the sound just yet. The "orchid" color is more of a pink-purple.

It comes with a lyrics booklet...one page for each song, and a card for a digital download.

it's the bet way to hear the record, and all of it's layers. when you can hear said layers, the whole thing seems to make a lot more sense as far as what they were going for. the art of vinyl is not lost on billy.

i got the purple blood pressing. I'm sure they all sound the same.

The layers are mighty fine on this one, it’s true. There are little sections where u get some breathing room from the gasp/honk of big willie, and u can hear this really interesting layering of various synth textures. It’s kinda audacious, stacking so many synths, imo. Sounds like they did some frequency carving like how they used to stack so many guitars. But yeah. There are like little glimpses down side hallways as big willie drags u thru this particular haunted house and, man, some of those rooms just beggin to be explored

Really wish i could get an instrumental of this album. This is the first modern big willie release where im like — yep these songs are strong, someone could come and cover this or that and turn it into a hit or classic or whatever, someday. Like how they do to some of the oldsters that do strong songs as they’re declining/dying out or whatever

I pre-ordered and got the pink swirl vinyl. It's kinda noisy, but sounds good otherwise.

My copy has some unacceptable noise on side A, so I've asked for a refund ($50!) but haven't heard anything back yet... unsurprisingly.

Also unsurprising is the love netphoria is feeling towards Cyr.

I like that bone colored one - but no way I'm shelling out for Australian shipping costs to get one of those. I like to get vinyl colors that match the feel of the album, and this album doesn't feel warm/rich/emotional enough for it to be purple or purple blood or love colored vinyl to me.

So, I went for the CD, which was nowhere to be found at Target: strange, as they still get most big/new releases on CD... but no sign of SAOSBV2: CYR. Got it at the local record shop instead, so that's better ultimately.

Speaking of which, the fact that this isn't titled SAOSBV2 anywhere on the packaging is really frustrating to me.

I digress - On CD, I'm running into the same problem I have been with every other format. Because there's just really so little variance from one song to the next, getting through 70+ minutes of it is just brutal.

So maybe vinyl would help - I could start on platter 2, side a and skip right to it forcefully to see what's on the back half of the record.

Yeah my playlist has settled on 10 tracks at this point, which gives me pause about the vinyl. But doing a side here and there, with a couple of those songs on it, sounds kinda nice

And mostly im just really curious what it sounds like on vinyl. As some have suggested here, this strikes me as the kind of mix/tones where some good ol analog distortion could make it come alive in new ways

Assuming it is black, and that’s ok. Apparently this is the cheapest way to purchase Cyr currently on vinyl, online. So i will give it a spin on a little project ii here running ortofon 2m, or whatever, thru these bookshelf speakers that are called hold up let me check

I had it (uk baby pink) and it sounded a little different to what's on Spotify. I think it sounds fine on Spotify though, the vinyl is maybe a bit better but it's not transformative. It's not like this is an all analog production or the digital version is mastered badly.

I had to send it back because of unacceptable noise on side A. I'm wary of buying it again as this particular fault is likely present to some extent on a lot of copies.
