i can understand why.
and i'm glad they aren't funny fiddles concerning...
PI & TAFH are comps, not "studio albums"
MII is a continuation of MI...

but the Z being the 7th studio album could have been sweeter Sevenspiracy

Yeah, Zeitgeist being #7 would have really been cool for the Sevenspiracy haha. Did anyone come up with the original QAOS files with usernames? There may be something there?

1. fuck off.

2. there's no need to. they've been shared for months, on yousendit links and on that anniedog site for example. if you wanted them for any reasonable reason, you'd have them by now. this whole mystery thing is not a good reason, in my opinion.
+ the bandwidth thing: if that wasn't the case, i'd be sharing it on the hub 24/7. (fuck belgian internet providers. fuck them hard in the ear.)

Well, I have some weird things going on my mind about this and I'm trying to figure out how to post them here so they'll make at least a lil bit of sense.

Bunny said that there's .vth will come. Since we're talking about DNA, RNA and proteins, I went to check my molecular and celullar biology books for proteins abreviations:
V = Valine (codons GUU, GUC, GUA, GUG)
T = Threonine (codons ACU, ACC, ACA, ACG)
H = Histidine (codons CAU, CAC)
So I'm kinda clueless if we should wait or search for sth like this or wtf does it means, if it means anything at all.

Anyway, we're still missing out ATG/AUG/Methionine. And it came to my mind that Glass And The Ghost Children = GATGC. I feel there IS something in this song we're missing. And I'm sorry if I didn't make any sense.

i take my unlimited bandwidth for granted... i'm a doofus for not keeping them... i figured they'd still be around (taking things for granted does have its downside)

i did manage to track down both versions of "sequence IV" (so they haven't disappeared)
found something in the text file worth mentioning

"Sequence IV" 31 May 1995
ANA-? > DAT > CDR-? > WAV [EAC] > WAV [WaveLab, FreeFilter] > SHN
http://www.spfc.org/band/studio.html?session_id=26

Known flaws: "twinkling" / crappy treble
dropout in Muzzle at 1:04
pops in Porcelina

In an attempt to make Sequence IV (a rough mix of MCIS' "Dawn to Dusk")
remotely listenable, I ran each track individually through FreeFilter
against its MCIS counterpart. It sounds a hell of a lot better, but it
didn't fix the clipping or the annoying 'twinkling' that probably
resulted from injudicious noise reduction.

I adjusted the preamp (I assume it was pre?) before applying the filter
in order to prevent clipping from the EQ process. I also adjusted the
volumes afterwards in an attempt to maintain the relative loudness of
each track on the disc. Some of the tracks seem a little bass-y, but
what the hell.

With that out of the way, I think this is an interesting listen. Several
of the tracks are nearly finished, but quite of the few tracks are
noticeably different. In general, some subtle instrumentation on the
final mix is more noticeable, and several of the instrumental takes are
slightly different.

::shrug:: Love it or leave it... hope I didn't screw anything up.

I'm surprise Davin hasn't made an appearance yet, or someone having the source/original files in their possession.

I regret deleting the originals this past tuesday.

That's quite interesting actually. I was unsure if Sequence 4 being referenced or not was intentional. This means it could well be. What if two of the sides could be an upgrade of Sequence 4? However, that wouldn't fit chronologically into the list of sides that's been given already - no room between QAOS and Adore Demos II.

if sequence IV is the rough mix for dawn to dusk.... wouldnt sequence V be the rough mix for twilight to starlight???

good catch on the quote T&T, that is exactly the same wording from the Bunny post - maybe it is the same guy that worked on dawn to dusk - that might add some weight to him having twilight to starlight?

WOW, great find T&T. But how does it all matter? As stated, there is no space between QAOS and Adore II. I guess that means Sequence IV is not the side we are looking for...but maybe it got us closer to the end.

Nice find with the codons in VTH Superstarla...maybe there is something there too.

Makes sense but we aren't dealing with DNA strands...it's stop codons used in transcription (DNA to RNA to a protein)

not necessarily. Sequence IV was what MCIS was on that day, May 31st 1995. Any other sequence of songs after that could have included some of the same songs and mixes that were on Sequence IV.

i think its only a coincidence that they settled on that exact sequence of songs for Dawn to Dusk. the choosing of tracks and whatnot was a long way from being finalized on May 31st.

Could Machina II be included as the 6th album? It wasn't a label release but it was an "official" release... or at least a companion album to Machina.

Sorry for my ignorance, I wasn't around for the Machina mystery stuff... and it's been a while since I've given it any thought... but couldn't the mystery have something to do with the search for truth? the willingness and devotion to look beyond yourself for something greater? Because even if this yields no answers, it draws us beyond the music, beyond the industry, to some sort of greater interaction, some interplay of spirit, mind, and body...

just a couple quick thoughts

Thanks, but I'm really focused on the gATGc thing now, I'm kinda "studying" Machina.

Any news, T&T?

as far as i know, there is no real back story. someone anonymously leaked two tapes a while ago (adore b-sides and quiet and other songs), but that wasn't really a mystery. that was just someone leaking some new songs.

this thread is the first mention of a "mystery". could be a joke by anyone. so far, i see no content.

the only way this mystery thing could be true is if billy is the leaker. otherwise it's just the person who leaked fucking with us (I think this is likely), or some random person

billy, bunny. SINE!!11!!

no but really, that would be funny if billy was the one doing that. Not that i think for a second that it is him (he doesn't have time for us "internet people"). But it would be a hoot, nonetheless.
