Just like he musically misjudged the moment in 2003, he is misjudging the market for a 20-year anniversary of Zwan

then again, he sold Siddhartha boxsets to morons for 500 a pop, so maybe the approach will be expensive vinyl boxsets

I would pay top dollar for a comprehensive Zwan collection. There are few things I would want more.

So this very well may happen before the Machina issues gets released (if it gets released).

Naw, it just means it is on course for a 2033 release date

Machina is coming out in 2027

He was pretty adamant in saying Zwan stuff wouldn't be out until after Machina.

SINE?

Easily one of the most coveted things left to us that could be real quality.

I dont get my hopes up on anything related to BC anymore, but man in the off-chance he does something right, this could be incredible. Theres a lot of good music amongst the live stuff, Djali Zwan stuff, and Spun soundtrack, not to mention whatever we haven't actually heard.

Yes we will get a handful of great songs as well as intimate Matt Sweeney reverb vocals

Djali Zwan hits really hard on a few tracks but damn a lot of it to me feels like what the VH1 Storytellers feels like to y’all… except you’re wrong about that one the VH1 Storytellers is really really good djali zwan is basically that but pushed one degree further… and that one degree just doesn’t sit right with me @Joey Goldberg

glad you @'d me on this one (& for that matter, that we finally have a working @ function here) 'cause I actually pretty much agree

though i'm not sure the "netpho collective" looks down on the Storytellers performance quite as much as you seem to believe

Bold prediction:

The remaster will clip even more than the original, and be even louder than “loud at any volume”.

Don't hold your breath on that one, he must find a way to chuck Smiley Sweeney and the fornicators out of the royalties stuff first

Or you think he’ll gladly write them Zuzu's checks…

This shit will never see the light of day. He's gonna need a bigger shelf for all these unreleased projects to sit on.

Didn’t he already sort it so they wouldn’t get a penny back in the day? I remember him gloating about it.

That does sound like him but i don't know if you can be 100% sure especially when it comes to reissues. I mean bassist and drummer of the Jimi Hendrix Experience signed away their rights 50 years ago and to this day their heirs are still in a legal battle with the JH estate.

You can sue anybody for anything. Even with agreements in place they could sue him which would cost him money for lawyers even if there’s zero chance they’d get anything. This would probably delay the release or at least cause bill a headache.

Machina tapes were being transferred in like 2009 or something so this announcement means squat. That being said I’m so frickin excited for this reissue and billy knows it.

What is the deal with the Spun soundtrack again?
It's not an official release, right? It was leaked?

I am actually listening to the Spun soundtrack for the first time. Think you know reminds me of the Machina demos like Laugh. Mary Star of the Sea sounds nothing like the album version.

It's too bad MSTOS the album didn't have a vibe like this.

My guess would be David, Matt, and Paz all signed on as salaried employees and not full-fledged members of the band entities that would share in profits from record sales (could even be that Jimmy was on a similar arrangement when he was in Zwan). Corgan's deal with Warner Brothers was not for a specific band, but for him as an individual, which he then used to release Mary Star of the Sea under the Zwan name, TFE under his name, and Zeitgeist under the SP name. The three of them likely got a monthly payment during their time in the band that was increased while they were on tour or in the studio. Other than songwriting royalties (IIRC Paz co-wrote one song on their album and the title track was credited to the whole band), they have probably not seen a dime since the band ended from record sales or royalties on the record. Considering the album has been out of print for years and not available to download since 2015 (the album was never on streaming services), I imagine they haven't seen songwriting royalties in a good while either. Even when the album was available to download, I sincerely doubt they were getting more than de minimis payments off of co-writing credits on a long forgotten album.
