Default Arcade Fire last night in London & the danger of covering great songs

Did anyone go? They struggled to fill the massive space of Alexandra Palace (despite the sell-out crowd) until the end and the inevitable sure fire double whammy of rebellion lies and wake up which are their today and disarm I guess. it was also slightly worrying that the two high points of the first hour were two covers - the smith's still ill and an absolutely stunning (and almost unrecognizable) cover of new order's age of consent which sent me right back to power, corruption and lies...
