Hey you guys I just gave this a listen. It's def splendid and far better than anything SP did in last two decades. It's like if James got a solo song on Adore wow.

First listened to this back in 2014 and liked it quite a bit. As is pretty consistent with James some of the songs are really good and some seem quite a bit undercooked, but definitely a triumph for James at the end of the day. Kinda funny that this was released the same year as Oceania. While I thought both were pretty good it was weird but a no brainer I guess that Oceania definitely sounded like it was missing James and Look to the Sky definitely sounded like it was missing Billy. To Who Knows Where probably wins as the most classic sounding SP song recorded post breakup.

Hmmm i feel like Look to the Sky doesn’t lack for big willie. It’s just purely james. It’s complete. It’s authentic

Whereas Oceania (and nearly everything since the breakup) sounds like big willie naked and scared, trying2hard, deliberately running from his strengths to make some kind of “point” rather than an actual listenable record, just endlessly chasing the wrongest rainbows to ride

i don't know about the mixing, but apparently there are 4 different tracklists (or are there more?): https://www.instagram.com/p/CMe5WIQp_YH/
and one song that only appears on the south korean version.

i never even knew that until yesterday...

and the australian version has an acoustic version of gemini.

While I am a fan of Let It Come Down, I dismissed Look To The Sky at the time (and a few times after that).

But because of this thread, I'm listening to it and I like it! Sure, it's a bit one-note, and some of the lyrics are terrible (but they are still better than Wild Bill's crazy thesaurus nonsense).

The rock bit in Gemini is a nice SP-esque moment, and To Here Knows When is a nice song. I also liked Speed of Love, Till Next Tuesday, and there's some really nice orchestration on the latter half of the album.

Gemini is the best post-2000 Pumpkins song.

Not much of a contest tbh.

One by One is easy to find.

But Gemini (acoustic) - no dice.

Half of the album falls completely flat, but the songs that work sound better than anything released under the Smashing Pumpkins name from 2007 to present.

This is superb on vinyl. Highly recommend if u can snag. The subtle distortion makes james voice kinda melt Kevin shields like in the mix. It’s good. Thank fuck for Jim Iha

Should add that almost all living beings of disparate ages/interests do enjoy this album when i play it in full on the family turntable.

Whereas we can’t get thru 2 tracks of omf Cyr without my son trying to behead himself with the chicken nugget knife

The acoustic version is on Spotify. If anyone knows how to rip it, that'd be great. Make sure you use that Australian VPN.

I am guilty of mixing tracks from this with Oceania tracks out of desperation.
