Default Recommendations for modern rock/alternative/punk/metal bands?

Obviously I’m not saying all those are the same, /‘s just save space. Question still stands. It’s really frustrating to me how it seems like bands just stopped being a thing in the 2010s, at least in the mainstream. So give me your recommendations please of modern or relatively modern bands you like.

Deafheaven is like black metal shoegaze fusion or something vaguely along those lines. I would recommend listening to Ordinary Corrupt Human Love, their newest one, if you are more interested in hearing something "alternative" or fusion sounding than black metal. they are p. cool

Have you guys ever found bands that sound like SP?

Besides Silversun Pickups lol (and tbh they only sound like a specific type of SP song)

I think SP has a very specific palette of sounds and they way Corgan weaved it all together in the glory days was pretty unique. Anyone trying to emulate their sound too overtly just sounds like a rip-off. SP is kind of like a backwards prism of Black Sabbath, Hendrix, the Beatles, Cheap Trick, the Cure, Queen, etc.

I listened to Soccer Mommy today. Well, I am still listening currently. For some reason I thought she had been mentioned in this thread, but I guess not. Some of her stuff sounds like it may have vague SP influences, although she never goes heavy like SP often did. Maybe I just want to believe she's influenced by SP because I want to hear their influence everywhere.

I listened to some Soccer Mommy and didn't really get the hype. It just sounded like really generic cutesy indie music with bad lyrics
