Default Johnny Hates Jazz / Spandau Ballet

I'm going through an 80s new wave / sophisti-pop / blue eyed soul phase right now so these bands are really doing it for me.

" Blue eyed soul" takes the cake for "most racially charged micro-genre name"

Some talk talk, dm, wall of voodoo, ultravox, roxy music, oingo boingo, adam ant, devo, yaz, berlin, duran, flock of seagulls, china crisis, art of noise, haircut 100, the the... and a lot more I can't remember. Guess it's time to listen to them again. I wanted my kid to hear what 80's music is like.

My god that's an awful video. It's videos like that one that create a stigma about 80s music in general.

Yeah.. it's like, I have to be on two screens at once, watching myself lol

I like how most 80's videos tell a little story, or just make no sense at all. The 80's seemed to be such a strange time with a lot of great musical experiments

if you want to get specific (and i'm sure you don't), the mid to late 80s were the advent of the story-driven music video
