yeah the show last year at the Apollo (Manchester) theatre was so much better than the shitty '08 MEN Arena. still, some cockhead sitting in front of me managed to fuck around with his phone the whole show.

and nowhere, nohow would Zeitgeist have ever been commercially successful. really, it was lucky to do as well as it did, considering how bad it was. not that it didn't have some raw potential but the way it was put together gave it no shot at being any kind of success.

Billy Corgan turned out to be a way more versatile songwriter than I previously thought. He made the conscious decision not to write "hit" songs anymore, instead writing songs that sound like attempts at radio-friendly hits but were just not quite as memorable or catchy as his certified hits. Songs like "I of the Mourning", which on the surface sounds like a desperate attempt to get a hit, instead was something else entirely.
