Anyone listen to John Frusciante?
Besides Billy Corgan this man is my favorite musician. Was wondering if anyone listened to all his solo albums...

I saw that home movie he made with Johnny Depp back when he was super messed up. It was so crazy and depressing.

I just might have some new stuff to download, then. I've had a couple of random songs before on my iPod and they were pretty good.

This is amazing, I pulled the old album, "The Will To Death" out today - and listened to it while doing a bit of semi-automatic writing. And here is a thread about John Frusciante music, sweet. "The Will To death" is my favorite of his solo stuff... it's actually one of my favorite albums ever, period. Though I don't listen to it everyday, or often as like, Zeitgeist or something - because the album is so moody. ...It breaths a certain atmosphere, I feel it every time I listen to it - it pulls me back into this world where I'm stoned, cold, and driving in the middle of nowhere, memories or dreams, the lines are blurred but the emotive/feelings of wonderment... this sense of being stuck in a changeless situation is completely clear. That's the feeling I get as I listen to his music - but then as I focus in to the music and let it impress upon me, a sort of presence along with the feelings and memories I get, is felt coming in waves. Just being here, listening to this record makes the anxiety for change completely wash away, and what's left it more energy than I had before for being in the moment. It's such good music. I haven't given a serious listen to the rest of his solo albums though. I've given them all a try - but none of them seem to emit the same cohesive energy as The Will To Death. |

i really really really like it when rhcp fans come in and start spurting their crap.
first it's a 'have you heard his solo albums?' like it's some really amazing musical discovery and then a history lesson on frusciante's addiction because NO ONE KNOWS ABOUT IT ALREADY. the best part is that they talk about it in such a fashion where they're actually assuming no one knows about it. |

i didn't say that, i said you act like it's some great musical discovery. like because his solo albums are kinda weird (well the first two anyway), that they're somehow something really special.
listen to more music |

so we should probably judge them the same way for making such statements. his albums aren't all that weird, they are all just varied in style. you don't even know how much music i listen to, or what i listen to. for all i know you keep the Lull ep on repeat all day. |

from the little i've heard, frusciante's music is like if hendrix's music was more challenging and less wank-y and less boring. i think i like it, although i am yet to download any records by him.

celluloid might get mad if i say anything good about frusciante.
but i guess i recommend hitting up his site...free acoustic versions of some songs. acoustic versions don't do justice all the time though because of all the effects and stuff he uses |
