I wish Netphoria supported a poll where we could vote the 5 tracks we like on all 33 songs. Then we could see what shit sinks and what shit floats, and I could decide which tracks to listen to a 2nd time.

top 5: the time he had Butch on the thing and they talked about the Butch & Billy times, um and also that time recently he talked about fast food or something I think? no wait, that might have been a non-fast food item but he wanted to adopt it for Zuzu's. and also anytime he talked about the songs in a way that really made it seem like the dude was chilling and about to just unleash some good music he'd made with friends he reunited with, being goofy about the MCIS/Machina stuff 'cause he actually was playing a character, playing up to the MTV Billy Corgan who actually was grandiose and conceptual in a kinda fun way that poked fun at stadium 70s rock he loved or whatever, but actually backed it with sincere, intimate, beautiful, sometimes angry music
bottom 5: literally any combination of 5 songs released from this piece of shit |

The drums are heinous but Gold Mask is a good song. Wasted here, unfortunately.

The only song I enjoyed was the title track. Helped in large part because it was an instrumental and I didn’t have to hear the way he sings now. Billy with his old voice is genuinely one of my favorite singers, too. A shame.

we could technically do three 11-option multi-choice polls (thought I guess there's no guarantee we wouldn't get a few "slick willies" coming in and just checking all of them) then take the "winners" of that for a final consolidation poll or whatev

It finally happened that I got one of these song's hooks stuck in my head and I don't even know which one. "I could never" or something.
And Space Age is great - obv when I listen I'm imagining how it would sound in MCIS era. Last edited by VoxUpDoc : 04-03-2023 at 06:24 AM. |

This is like asking me to rank the top 5 and bottom 5 shits I've taken this week. They're all smelly heaps.

All the worst songs are the ones where Billy is performing on them

And while I think Paranoid's general thesis statement (essentially, "this ain't MCIS, get used to it - just be grateful we're getting anything from our guy and find some joy in it, people") makes a lot of sense and is my general attitude too - I think that even more than the relatively C- tier songs, the root issue is that we're getting is the staggered release issue confounded by the sheer NUMBER of these songs too. There are SO many of them. And they are released a week apart in podcast 96kbps mp3 resolution then they show up in clumps on streaming services. So I haven't gone back and listened to "disc one" or "disc two" online. I think at this point I'll just wait for my vinyl and then try to make a concerted effort or two before it goes on the shelf. I'm not sure that dumping them all online then doing the podcast would have been a better business model, but man - it's hard to remember which one of these things is which. Sure, songs like Empires and Harmageddon and Hooray stand out - but even the ones that I think "hey, this isn't another Cyr synth-y thing!" I couldn't tell you the name of. And that's a bummer. Because it's not like I didn't want to like these songs, ya know? |

imagine being able to listen through this album an entire time, let alone the multiple repeat listens required to distinguish any of these songs from one another. i honestly can't make it past 15 seconds of any song, I feel like im in some sort of used car commercial.
i guess i do enjoy atum, but this track is just a rip off of the stranger things guys |
