Where has the talk about him been lately? lol again here today, gone tomorrow. Axl Rose sustains. Love or hate the guy, that's another story, but he's stood the test of time in an industry with INCREDIBLY fickle fans.
You're full of shit. When you don't like a popular artist, you use the "popularity doesn't = quality" argument. When you do like a popular artist, you use their popularity as a measure of goodness. You're stupid as fuck.

Axl Rose sustains because people can quell their nostalgia boner for a combination of the 80s & GNR's cover of "Sweet Child O Mine"

Here's a post from me from 3 years ago... Nailed it. Called it to a tee.

"Even if Lorde isn't "Hipster shit" per-say it's at least another example of how fickle audiences are with their opinions these days... I mean sure, theres always been one hit wonders but it seems today that it's reached an extreme... 1 year the artist is hailed as the greatest thing since sliced bread, 2 years later no one gives a fuck anymore... I'm pretty sure this phenomenon is unique to this current generation."

...it's not unique to this generation you idiot. do you have any conception of how much "flavor of the week" shit has existed in literally every era of commercial music? that's an incredibly dumb claim.

And you're quoting yourself when you said you were going to quote me? Good one, fuzz. Pour out the rest of your beer and go to bed.

It was in a different thread. There's a few different threads that are coming up on a search engine search, but alas I cannot view those threads as I've been banned, how convenient for you. But my memory is certain on this. You and Elph were fawning over Lorde and then Elph was gushing about how cool she was as he posted a JPEG of her wearing a "Cramps" t-shirt. You guys were uber excited.

I was the only one who was big into Hosier, and I'm not butthurt that he isn't still popular or whatever. He's still a good artist, you absolute dinosaur.

@ Reprise: lol he was a flash in the pan exactly as I predicted. I get ridiculed endlessly for these ballsy predictions and then when they're proven right I don't get an iota of credit. And you weren't the only one stoked about him. There was at least 4 or 5 others who were stoked and excited. I think Sonic Johnny was one of the vocal enthusiasts.

yes fuzzy, you are nostradamus for picking a random artist and predicting they won't have lasting popularity. it's not like that happens to 99% of all artists or anything

also again let me remind you that if you were defending an unpopular artist, you would be falling over yourself to convince everyone that popularity is irrelevant

No Reprise, not everyone is raved about endlessly in the music media with a HUGE hit single and then washed up 3 years later.

The music media is more perverse than it used to be. I mean sure, there was always one hit wonders like your Dishwallas and The Verve Pipes but it's not like they were ever raved about in the music press. And though groups like those had hit songs, they weren't inescapable to the level of a Royal or Take Me To Church or even Someone That I Used To Know... What happened to the Someone That I used to know guy? BIGGEST song of the year, couple years later, DONE and FINISHED. Come on, this is a new phenomenon

itt fuzzy argues that the one hit wonder is a phenomenon unique to "this generation"

not even sure how you could make up a dumber claim
