So I met Alice Cooper a few hours ago.

Strange days. I'm staying at a resort type compound in North Myrtle beach with several hotels. I was out in the surf and came back in for a beer. I had just made the shoreline when I looked up and saw a couple of dudes walking towards me. When they got closer I realized the one dude was Alice Cooper. Confused I uttered "hey there Mr. Cooper"

"Hey man how's it going" - his response

"Here to do some golfing?" - know that the dude likes to golf and not really having anything else to say.

"No, I have a concert at the House of Blues"

"Cool....well have a good one"

"Yeah you too"

Pretty awkward exchange. The dude with him looked like some kind of assistant. I wish I had asked him to put me on the list as I wouldn't mind seeing Alice Cooper (for free that is) and the show is tonight.

Totally fucking random.

i heard some hilarious alice cooper banter when he was dj'ing on the radio here last week. someone sent him an email asking if he believes in aliens, he had some pretty cool things to say. mainly about scotland and arizona being the most common places to see ufos, because apparently aliens are into golf.

Through Saturday. Normally this wouldn't be my choice for vacationing but I'm staying for cheap in a condo right on the water due to my Special Olympics contacts.

man, i guess that from reading all the stories of bill offering people a spot on the list, i'm used to assuming that an encounter like that with a bandleader usually leads to an offer of entry to the show. doesn't it seem that bill does that fairly frequently, from what gets posted here? or am i misperceiving it?

Yeah it probably would have come to that if I had talked to him for more than 5 seconds. The conversation was held entirely with me walking towards the beach and him walking along it. I didn't even think to just ask outright. Oh well.... I'll be drinking margaritas and playing beer pong tonight instead so it works out.
