Basically what I expected. She will do fine live. But her commentary makes it sound like SP’s style is alien to her. Says she has minimal knowledge of fx and is more of a rhythm player. That kind of stuff makes it seem like her social media following is really what tipped the scales. She seems personable though so she probably wasn’t weirding them out which is important. If a guy plays great but is gonna fanboy, that would just be weird to be around in the band.

exactly, band should just have bil/iha on guitar. i don't know why i'm supposed to be interested in her or anything she does, i guess - if the band were currently amazing i'd be happy to approach it from an optimistic point, but since when has billy made a good decision?

Jeff was doing lots, he was even doing some leads that were supposed to be done by Billy but he was focused on singing and b0lly dancing.

Jeff style is way more shoegaze, but Billy asked him to play heavy. I doubt Billy will ask Kiki not to be a heavy metal pastiche player.

This here is why the Pumpkins should be good with just the two guitarists. The less playing done by Billy the more awkward he looks on stage and I don't give a fuck how many lessons he's taken, dude will never be an actual good singer.

All the above are prime reasons for the increased levels of suckage since 2007.

I've seen them thrice with Jeff in the lineup and with the acknowledgement that he's probably a nice guy and I wish him all the best, I've never really considered him to be more than a hired hand who hung around an unusually long time.

That he was a Pumpkin for 16 years (a fair bit longer than the original band were together) doesn't mean a lot, as Billy was his employer and I can't think of anything he added to the (mostly) bad/mediocre music the band put out during his entire stint.

Farewell Jeff, I barely knew ya.

This lady, good luck on her for getting the gig and I hope it pays solidly. But she'll be filed away in a few years in the cabinet labelled Expendable Personnel with a host of others.

It's pretty good to normalise having kids and being in a rock band. I mean some musicians clearly use their kids for marketing purposes however (could you for example name James' kids?)
