kill hannah are a local band from chicago, that has never quite been able to make it. sometimes they act like the cure, sometimes more gothic, sometimes more emo...but lately they are a rock/electronica band trying to be a little heavier.

they headlined the pumpkins tribute show (act 4) a while back at Metro.

kill hannah floated on the verge of "making it" for years and years. its not like they've ever had anything i would consider to be a "break out" success.

hey smartass, it said the intelligence of machina, not the intelligence of the arising tour. and it's not 'a few lyrical refrains', it's a recurring theme of lazy songwriting, and it comes across a lot more clearly than any supposed theme of the whole machina mystery

can you give me an example of the intelligence of machina? i really don't see anything worth being called out as intelligent about that album

hey dumbass, the arising tour and machina both consist of the same material.

and YES, it certianly is just a few lyrical refrains, 4 to be exact. Your saying this is representative of all 15 tracks of the machina album?

age of innocence is a great fucking song with great writing, so is stand inside your love.......and glass + the ghost children. if you don't see any intelligent song-writing in any of these songs, especially compared to whats on the radio today, then i say again....you have extreme mental retardation.

ok so when someone names an album, you think of the tour that preceded it by a year, where they roadtested the songs, and significantly reworked most of them before putting them on the album. awesome, davster.

also, intelligence by comparison to radio content doesn't necessarily amount to a whole lot of intelligence, so that point a worthless one to me.

even though the production of the songs changed from arising to the album, the actual songs themselves didn't really change that much. go back and listen to them. and besides, this was only part of my point.

even if you discount the "stripped down versions", and you discount the comparison to radio content, you're trying to say in all honesty that there is no intelligent song writing or content in those 3 songs i mentioned? arguably others too, but i'm starting with the ones that are the most obvious to prove my point.

no, that's not at all what i said.

my main point is that selecting the word 'intelligent' to describe the album is hard for me to accept given how stupid the album seems to me with all the lame, boring repetition.

It's often advantageous to pick one player and get them to do all their parts, and the parts of anyone else who they can do. Take Metallica for instance: before St Anger, James did all the rhythm guitars, while Kirk did most of the leads.
