Leeds, UK - 8/24/2007
Should be great about half way through NINs set as the sun sets. I've been loving Year Zero as it's a return to form (not quite The Fragile tho'). Personally althought I know that we're unlikely to get them I want Superchrist and 7 Shades. The new version of Shame would be awesome, but they can leave Today and Bullet for me - not interested (as great as they are),
Anyone? |

I'm going..the set is likely to be pretty similar to the Virgin festival set they just played in the US probably..
Wouldn't mind a bit of Thru The Eyes of Ruby..would be great to hear that again. |

I don't care what else they play as long as they finish with Gossamer.

not sure of exact song choice or order, but yea...it will be similar to the 2 hour 17-18 song sets they've been doing for fests.
not as good as 2hr 45min "solo" shows...nor 3hr residency/initial comeback shows....but its still going to be awesome, esepecially with NIN. I won't be at leeds but i will be at reading. |

I'll be at Reading, so far seems the Pumpkins will only be playing 1h30 or 1h45..hopefully they'll push to 2h but im pretty sure the bands have to stop at 11:30. Can't rememeber how long PJ played for last year, anyone? I hope they bring out something special to show how good they are esp next to NIN
EDIT: oh, and also, do you guys reckon they'll play the same setlist for Leeds and Reading? I remember they changed it round a bit for Rock Am Ring and Rock Im Park, i think Last edited by r_eg : 08-20-2007 at 06:11 AM. |

British TV will be covering the leeds/reading festivals from 7pm tomorrow, with a highlight package later on, but it looks like they will be focusing on razorlight instead of the pumpkins friday. best case scenario will be a couple of tracks (guess: bwbw and one of the other hit singles). i don't see them getting much coverage sunday either

pretty good setlist for a festival. then again, maybe take out G&TGC and To Sheila and replace with TTEOR and Galapagos.

I like how they refer to this "spat" between Billy and Trent Reznor.

I was there on a day ticket. They didn't play Muzzle, came on about 5 minutes late so I guess they didn't want to break the curfew. I did think that finishing with their alternate version of HMM was a bit of a weird choice. Glass and the Ghost... was probably the highlight for me, I need to get a copy of that!
All in all it was fucking outstanding, I don't know how the rest of the festival expects to be anywhere near as good as that. Good luck Razorlight! haha |

Last night was fucking incredible..the sound was the best I'd ever heard the Pumpkins..even Heavy Metal Machine sounded brilliant.
Opened with United States..Billy really drew out the star spangled banner which caused alot of people to boo and alot of people left..alot of people also left during Glass and the Ghost Children and Heavy Metal Machine..to be honest, not that many people were watching and the ones who did come got bored of Billy pissing around, which I can understand as what they playing really didn't translate at a festival. However, the sound was perfect, Billy seemed in a good mood and actually wore normal clothes for once..Disarm sounded incredible, especially when they hadn't played it in Glasgow. Reading is going to be another exceptional show which I need to try and get another ticket for as the person I went with thought the Pumpkins were brilliant. Think I was one of the few people that enjoyed it all though..it seemed Billy wanted to wind the crowd up by extending the star spangled banner..Oh well, that's Billy for you. Perfect sound though throughout and spoton vocals. |
