1. Unwound, Leaves Turn Inside You (best album of the last five years, IMHO)
2. Fugazi, The Argument
3. Kleenex/Liliput, The Complete Recordings (I know, I know, it's technically a reprint of a reprint of a collection...)
4. Love as Laughter, Sea to Shining Sea
5. Shipping News, RMSN Carrier

That's the fucking great thing. Everyone has heard different shit than everyone else for the most part, and will list different top 5's.

It's a band led by one of the founders of Olivia Tremor Control... Extremely dense, lush, minor-key pop. It's a perfect album to go to sleep listening to; it's got this incredibly off-kilter, dreamlike sense to it, and there are melodic threads that pop up throughout the album. If you're willing to give it your attention, it's one of the most phenominal pieces of music you'll ever hear.

Yeah, you are probably right in both cases. But I don't think anything from last year is going to stick with me as long as the Bonnie Prince Billy album will. A lot of the good releases were good for like a month and then I didn't listen to them again.

I just got this, my first RHP record, and it seems a little bland. it runs for far too long. it is nice as ********** music but when I really listen to it properly it bores me
