Only good acoustic I think. This song may be one of the first times where billy successfully created hype about a middle tier song. |

Agree about LMGTWTY. The Adore version could've been good but Joey Zaronwonka's drums are absolutely terrible. No swing, no flow, and weird disjointed fills. The Machina 2 version isn't that good either. The Adore live versions from the early shows on that tour were the best.

I was 17 or 18 and got a bootleg of that Viper Room show. It was probably the most exciting time to be a Pumpkins fan. Right off of MCIS.. and then hearing the Adore era songs for the first time, live, raw, and acoustic. Jesus Christ this band and Billy used to be good.. so long ago lol Fuck we're all old.

Maybe let me give the world to you just isn't that great of a song?
From my understanding, the Adore box set take of it was an amalgamation of several different takes. Joey Waronker isn't that great of a drummer to begin with and I don't feel like we ever got a true take from the time. Just 2013/14 Billy input. |

Dunno what everyone is talking about, the MII lmgtwty is one of my fave machina songs. It’s classic. The viper room version is a little slow and lacks the shoegazy guitars

Ramwise and I are on your side brother.
I also like the reissue LMGTWTY. There's a lot of hatred on this board. |

Machina 2 version is the best recorded version. Moves nicely.
The shimmery guitars are quite nice and the acoustic part in the back is nice. As with all M2 stuff though, it's too noisy because of the medium it was released. Last edited by jakobtheliar : 12-07-2020 at 10:28 PM. |

Yet, with Cyr dare i venture to posit that i detect the first nascent tremblings of a creative spark that hasn’t been present since, well, Machina. It’s our band, and not the shiny oh so Rubin version. Like, there’s some fucken pumpkins on there, for real. Leaving me ever so cautiously hard for what’s next |

but yeah that was what got me excited back in october. i thought i heard something that resembled the old classic vibes/emotion. then i got carried away by the fact that i actually enjoyed listening to sp for the first time in ages. |

The single b side was better. I remember paying $10 for the import siyl single in 2000 when it first came out and it only had the title track and speed kills. I had a discman back then and remember bringing the cd outside with only those 2 songs to listen to.

I bought the import cd single from Amoeba in the Haight in San Francisco. After my dad was done with his first 1 or 2 purchases, (I was young and he paid AND was driving.) I put my expensive 2 track cd into the discman with the tape attachment and speed kills was bliss. A number one, classic example of the Adore era Fernandes guitar sound, but used in a shredder way. Add in the ambient James guitar and classic, tasteful Jimmy, and you've got one hell of a track. ETA: I paid $11.99 for it, but it was the city. |
