You want to know the truth? A forum where people use their real names and identities carries a fuck ton more weight than an anonymous forum with anonymous posters. Netphoria with ten thousand members is ultimately less legitimate than a facebook forum with a few dozen real people, because anything they say and do attaches to a real person, not some online bullshit persona such as my own.

our opinions mean so little that Netphoria has actually become a bogeyman for Billy Corgan that bothers him enough that he has had to repeatedly call out the site by name over the years. makes sense

also, many of us communicate off this board on other platforms, know each other's real names, etc. SP board is the bottom floor of this social network. You will likely never proceed any further though, as you have been here only a short period of time and have demonstrated yourself to be a really unpleasant, unlikable person

perhaps we just don't have the drive for validation of our thoughts and feelings so badly we need to unite under a t-shirt to feel legitimized.

Most of the Smashing Pumpkins fangroups are closed groups. So there is some kind of group pressure. If you don't share the opinion of the administrators and be too unpleasant for them, you get easily kicked out.
People can molest you more with private messages, if you shared your contact address publicly. Even if you blocked them.


I doubt that you as a private person have to take the responsibility so easily when you are spreading false rumours.

Clay Tuckett at least had no problem to tell in a D'arcy Wretzky fangroup that D'arcy had desperately tried to get new friends for her Facebook site when she gave the text messages with Corgan to Alt Nation. Which was total bullshit. She had only ANSWERED on friendship requests she had gotten.
Confronted with his lies Clay Tuckett still tried to make her look bad by pointing out that in their conflict it would be inappropriate for her to waste time with friend requests…
