This is criminal!

For years, it has been an open secret in Seattle’s Live Más community that the KFC/Taco Bell in Lower Queen Anne (210 W. Mercer Ave) overcharges.

We're Talking 98% Price Hikes

A Crunchwrap we bought in Lower Queen Anne cost us $11.07, pre-tax. But in SODO, Ballard, Rainier Beach, and Kenwood we paid $6.19, $5.39, $5.39, and $5.59, respectively, for the same thing–a staggering 98% price hike on the low end.

Inflated prices are consistent across the menu.

The Mexican Pizza costs you $9.99 in Lower Queen Anne. But you can find it for half that price (between $5.69 and $4.99) anywhere else.

The Bean Burrito ($5.99) at LQA is also double the price. A regular crunchy taco ($3.89) is at least 33% more expensive. The “value menu” Cheesy Roll Up–literally cheese in a tortilla–is $3.99.

It's a bell weather for how Seattle works in general. Businesses (especially the big ones) don't give a shit what the downstream ramifications of their actions are. Their response is literally "we're trying to overcharge the tourists and commuters". That mentality is soaked through every part of the economy here. It's worst with housing. $3k for a studio apt... and if you listen to landlords they'll say something like "all these tech people have $ so we're just charging them."

Yeah, there are two different chains with the same name. I don't know why. But they're completely different. PNW is weird that way. It's like two states that are basically the same, except the people in one of them are scum and the people in the other state are OK

I lived in Washington for a year and a half, and that's where I tried Taco Time. I didn't realize the one in Oregon is different because I never wanted to return. Terrible food! My burrito standards are high, though. I lived in both Texas and New Mexico

The people I knew in Washington were more snobby and the people I know in Oregon are more lazy and forgetful. Both options are bleh.

Alabama and Mississippi are also two states that are basically the same, always competing to be worse at everything. The main difference being Alabama has a better football team and Mississippi has more rivers. Both are chock full of aggressive idiots. Bleh!
