I recently read a pretty interesting feature article on John Chau, the guy who set out to convert the last (relatively) uncontacted tribe on the planet a few years ago. Naturally, they almost immediately killed him. I'd heard of this in the context of, like, jokes and memes, but this gives a lot of context for the kind of sad way he got to the point of doing this stupid, evil thing.

I do the same thing about people's political leanings. If I smell Red on them, I know I can't trust them.

Yeah same. It’s not purely partisan, just based on their thoughts about welfare states and market failures (but can appreciate that my concerns would all fall under “are they red?” in the U.S.)

From April 6-9 Heathens celebrate Sígrblót! For our celebration this weekend my GF and I will go to the Olympic mountains, build a bonfire, and eat and drink good food under the stars.

Sígrblót (aka Sommardag or Victoryblot) is an ancient Heathen holiday falling on the fourth full moon after the winter solstice. This year's full moon begins on April 6, 2023. Sígrblót is a pre-Christian celebration appointed by Odin in the Ynglinga Saga, stanza 8.
In Sweden 'Goa' moon is called Goje Month/Moon, and in Iceland, it is called Goamanuthr (Goa Month/Moon). This year Goa/Goje Moon falls on April 6-9 during the fourth full moon after the winter solstice.

Leaks have it that Trump would make fun of Pence for being so religious. Despite repeatedly calling The Bible his favourite book, he could never answer specific questions about it.

He doesn't seem the least bit religious, but I don't know if that means anything about his beliefs. I suspect that most Christians are like "yeah, I believe in god and Jesus and stuff," but that doesn't mean they devote time to Bible study or go to church every week or know that parables by heart or follow all of their relogion's teachings or anything. It's just a vague "yeah, I think those guys are up there." Maybe Trump is like that. Or maybe he's an atheist cynically pretending to be Christian. I dunno.

I am a Norse Pagan. But i'm also an Atheist. When I talk to Pagans in Sweden they describe their version of Heathenry as a collection of non dogmatic myths, fables, poems, rituals, and mythical gods that are a poetic way of looking at a natural world grounded by science.

When I talk to Norse Pagans in the USA many indeed believe that Odin walks the Earth and giving offerings to Tyr will make their dicks bigger.

America has a bad religion problem. I blame the Puritans. But pretty much everyone is doing it wrong here.

I wanted to bring up my position regarding the celebration of pride/LGBT month. I want to make it clear that I am a Muslim, and that the values expressed by the LGBT group contradict my religious beliefs and practices.

Matters regarding homosexual and trans activities are prohibited within Islam. As a believer and practitioner of Islam I cannot support or promote such activities and I do not wish to be involved at all, or associated with the LGBT ideology. I wish to disassociate myself from anything that goes against Islamic values and traditions.

I understand that the LGBT group and their activities are offered the right to practice their ideals in this country, and it is not my intention to force any changes. Similarly, I also reserve the right to believe and practice my faith freely in this country as well.
