Seriously! What the fuck is with monte? He sucks! Why is he the middle man between fans and band? I feel like people might start to think all pumpkins fans are retarded... Then again, we must be if we're still fans.... but MONTE more so... AND he's a mormon? FUCK!
honestly, i think he was so persistent and over the top towards corgan that he just gave in when he realized some kind of fan liaison might be good. he is also the only one obsessed enough to want the job and was already well known in the community.

I always loved that in 2007-mid 2008 Corgan was thoroughly freaked out by Monte. You can hear him, in many of Monte's videos where he accosts Corgan in a private space, make jokes that Monte freaks him out and he is afraid of being stabbed in his home by Monte (I am not making this up at all). Then, things happen...

-20th Anniversary Tour where Billy openly insults many of his fans
-Jimmy leaving
-Teargarden by Kaleidyscope being almost completely ignored

and all of a sudden Monte is the best fan.

Remember the BC/JC thing in Zeitgeist?

Those two were BFFs. Now Monte is Corgan's only friend.

" I even remember fast forwarding through “Tales of a Scorched Earth,” finding it too heavy for my liking, and acting super silly as I heard “We Only Come Out at Night.”"

Dude, I loved Tales Of A Scorched Earth when I first heard it, I wanted to dance when I heard it! And I never heard of the album before, so listening to Mellon Collie was a whole new experience for me, a year prior to me buying Mellon Collie, I was into Nine Inch Nails, Nirvana, and Stone Temple Pilots, it was a breath of fresh air to listen to something new.

"I was surprised one Sunday in May of 1996. While watching the Simpsons, I saw this cartoon band playing the Smashing Pumpkins song ZERO."

My mom wasn't even pregnant with me yet, I was conceived in June or July 1996 and born in early April 1997, so I missed out on all the SP/grunge/alternative/rock fun.

It is a nice write up by Monte though. I had a lot of the same kind of experiences as a kid... Only with the band Green Day when I was like 8 in 1994

I love how he acted like James is a dick for responding awkwardly to Monte's dumb ass asking if he could sign a fucking ALF doll. I mean come on.

This would be a total winner of a film. Basically 40 year old virgin again but called "superfan" or something. Gorilla suits, creepy dates, fourth grade education, it's comedy gold.

Since this thread was revived. I'd like to share my favorite moment from Monte's SP Life:

It was then on a July evening that my mom came to my room and said “Jonathan, someone in your Pumpkin band died!”

“WHAT!” I yelled as I rushed to my mother’s room where she had Entertainment Tonight on (or something like that) and they showed this hotel room that the Pumpkins were staying in. I found out that a touring keyboardist, whom I had never heard of, had died of a drug overdose. My parents started to question whether I should ever see such a band. It wasn’t until a few days later that I learned about the firing of Jimmy Chamberlin and this put my parents at ease.

Monte's parents are total squares

Monte's parents are like Mike's parents who made him promise he would not do drugs if he was allowed to quit McDonalds and join Smashing Pumpkins.

I found this in my closet. My buddy wrote it when we were in 6th grade (he was a bit slow), and I think it gives monte a run for his money
