do you realize that most perfumes are just combinations of essential oils? like the majority of the perfume world just layers on musk, patchouli, or whatever however they see fit?
lol

i think the non-blade runner one is easily going to become a staple for me. on day 2 i got compliments on it (i never get compliments - i am a pariah). also the sillage lingers like a ghost and that's my favorite part of fragrance.

Like Prometheus, you are encouraging humans to toy with things meant for divine hands only. Tread carefully. Like Prometheus, you will be punished.

nope but kind of close - think lower tier around the $20 mark.

you'll never guess it. it's the weirdest shit i ever smelled.

haven't gone back to it since the day i first tried it.

no clue how this stuff still exists in fresh-made batches.

i want everyone to spray 6-7 times MINIMUM! EACH DAY!

it's a new age. no more of this "i'll only put on a spritz or two when its a special occassion my bed bath and beyond cucumber melon (god love it) will do the trick until then"

From about 19-25, i wore ‘Lacoste pour femme’. I had a nearly new bottle on a shelf in my bathroom, and my brother accidentally knocked it off the shelf and it shattered on the floor. It made my bathroom smell (strongly) of perfume for like a year. By the time it had faded enough for me to consider wearing it again, i had begun to transition and was stoked to use men’s body spray. LIKE A MAN!

Now I just wear bergamot deodorant that is often mistaken for cologne. Or old spice. My life isn’t fancy enough for delicate glass bottles of fragrance. But a guy can dream.

Sometimes i’ll get a whiff of pour femme somewhere and get nostalgic for my early 20’s. Some of my friends will say the same…”i always think of you when i smell that”

Who wouldn’t?

But a 25 year old baby trans guy would much rather have the ease and perceived ruggedness of an aerosol ‘ice crush musk’.
These days I’m just happy if I don’t smell bad.

is this where you're just getting on your journey of discovering manufactured scent?

pretty much you're just sick of marketing in general because it's all targeted around class aspirations and gender. the least we can do is mute commercials and never click ads on the computi.

No this isn't a new thing to me - but I kind of think that perfume was the first thing to have split gender marketing in order to sell more prodcut.

edit: okay maybe not THE first thing but one of the first things

i get sad sometimes because i really want a bottle of Guerlain Mitsouko. From 1919. It smells like old books and piss-stained wooden floorboards.

Heaven.

p sure clothing and household products/appliances were some of the first things to be marketed toward gender.

perfumes were initially sold to the rich, men and women, when baths didn't exist yet and all scents were "unisex". more of a class thing

ok let's pretend sinks and washers were unisex

okay they made washers and dryers for both men and women

but all perfume used to be perfume until they invented it for men

if you think patchouli or musk or frankincense was a rare oil you're very mistaken, miss
