Yeah Rubano tapes is decent because it’s similar in quality to other 1988-1991 audio we have. Those are some good performances and a few unheard tracks too. But the Kawasaki show is not particularly good performance-wise or in sound quality. Just sounds like a really flat soundboard tape. Certainly does not seem worthy of a standalone vinyl release. The Gish era show that ratbastardquinto leaked a few years back sounds much better. Also no digital lossless and/or CD releases of this stuff is really shortsighted. Billy does not know how to curate his bands legacy at all. Somebody help this man.

YouTube and Soulseek. It's OK, basically like Mashed Potatoes alt live takes. Full band Vanilla is quite interesting

I’m pretty favorable on the band and the musical direction. The show I saw this month was incredible. That being said, I’m not buying vinyl and continuing to miss out on the archive releases pisses me off. Sustainable business model my ass.

From Reddit, regarding Rubano Vol. 2:

"It was on their Instagram post with all the details and track list, it is $125 transparent yellow non-signed."

No words if true. None.

Was that full band Vanilla floating around before Rubano tapes? Also had never heard the version of 365 with that quiet intro

Side A has STP as the first song.

SpFreaks shared a post from someone spruiking it and you can see the track list on the record.

I hope that Alabaster is one we haven't heard.
I look forward to hearing it months after release when it inevitably turns up on soulseek.

Alabaster is up on YouTube if you want to listen. Pretty cool song. Sounds like the earlier Cure type stuff they were doing meets the heavier East/Nothing and Everything type stuff.

For sure this record shop was buying it only to make immediately a copy and sell it as still new for the cost price...
