ok the song sucks but it would be awesome if billy got in the machina era garb and filmed a really fast paced performance music video in the desert... i mean he called it arabesque

AI being entirely too reasonable

Human: Why can’t Billy Corgan make good music anymore?

AI: That's a tough question and not one that I can answer definitively. It's possible that his personal tastes have changed, or that he's encountered some creative blocks over the years. Ultimately, we can only speculate as to why Billy Corgan's music is different than it used to be.

Human: Fair enough. But why is Billy Corgan making fuckshit clownmusic with synths instead of utilizing Jimmy Chamberlin’s amazing drumming?

AI: It's possible that Billy Corgan wanted to explore new musical directions and found that synth music was the best way to do so. While Jimmy Chamberlin's drumming is certainly amazing, it might not fit the sound Billy Corgan was looking for in his new music.

I dont know if this guy is a troll or legit:

His opinion:

Top 3 -

1. That Which Animates The Spirit (Heavy as fuck, hard rocker, powerful)
2. In Lieu Of Failure (Crungy Rocker, killer riff)
3. Sojourner (Slow and Melodic with 3 different sections ala song Oceania)

It’s if Darth Vader did cocaine while using a midi keyboard and watching George of the Jungle. jungle drums, some killer JC. also some JC that everyone has been wanting.

4 pages in and no one's mentioned that the guest is Jeff

That about sums up his time in the band

There is something to this track, but the production kills it for me. Feels like if they had jammed around it as a band a lot more and then recorded it, it might have been less sterile. Guitars sound weak and vox too high for me *♀️

My review

I don't hate it but it's the sort of thing I "feared" when the project was announced.

It's a bit too close to SD or MCIS "rockers" but without the energy, "magic", twists, turns, and moments, and without bringing anything new or novel to the table.

It probably fills a "rock song" shaped hole in ATUM and works as part of the album but as a song it's a bit crap and, more disappointingly, it's exactly what WPC says he and SP have grown past and refuse to do/be again.

Glad you asked because I have a great video concept!

WPC wearing a dress + makeup and dancing. Occasionally you see Jeff, James, Jimmy or Katie doing their thing while looking bored.

Is the whole thing sort of awkwardly home made? I see what you're going for...

Katie is just becoming a major problem at this point. I'd enjoy Pumpkins Lite on occasion without her "ooooohs" factored in.

I actually don't mind the backing vocals.. gives it a pink floyd vibe.

HOWEVER-- it DOES feel like the space used up by the vocals could be space for some roaring lead guitars.
