iz true

It's sorta surreal watching the action. Billy, albeit won't admit it, seems to have given in to fan demands. This shit just seems different from the past 15 years of phoning it in.

This was the first time in years, decades maybe, where BC seemed to WANT to rock.

No shit, it's like Billy's hungry for it again, he's playing like he's got something to prove, it's incredibly exciting to watch. Why the fuck has this band been coasting for so long? As Jimmy said... where has this band been?!?!

I can't get over how good this is, I'm really hoping this makes it to Australia in the near future, I need to see this!

Hello kitty kat, that's great to see live again. Thanks for recording that

BC's voice though. It's passable, but there's no passion anymore

This is what the Shiny tour should've been like. Not playing to a rigid click track with interminable set lengths makes all the difference and it feels more like an organic rock show again.

Hey, it's not easy bringing life into the world! Let the man be pants free!!

I'm pretty giddy bout these stages so far, and I hope his next outfit is even wilder.

it's all a trick so you think maybe the new album's gonna be rocking then it comes out and it's "what if Zwan had more synths and no guitar solos and borderline spoken word vocals"

IMO Shiny was a very fun rebranding tour, a type of resurrection that played to some of the bands strengths–grandiose, musically generous–while hampering others: rage, power, raw emotion, improvisation. The latter qualities of the band, really what makes them great and the best live rock show around, are not for everyone; most people go to shows to hear the hits. I think they know this. So Shiny was the 'hey, we're still around, remember The Smashing Pumpkins?'

I loved those shows but there was definitely something missing, as you say, it def didn't feel like an 'organic rock show'. Too choreographed, too restrained. That works fine with other bands, but I don't think it's the best mode for SP. Too much is lost.

I think we had to get through Shiny for them to be in a place where they reached back into the mainstream.

Every tour I've seen since Shiny (2019, Riot Fest) has been a step closer to 2022, where they have found a way to play to all their strengths, sacrificing nothing, and just really having a great time. Also, James seems so happy in all the clips I've seen. For me this has always been a useful barometer on the internal health of the band.

I wouldn’t have recorded Once In a Lifetime normally but there was SO much screaming throughout that I got the last bit.

He still got it
