this is tripping me out. I just realized he's using it in the british sense [just like 'smashing pumpkins'], hence it means slutty pop star, not toaster pastry

No one would ever say “pop tart” in that way. Even if you said “she’s a pop tart” people would think you’re referring to pop tarts and that you mean she’s cute.
So 100% it’s WPCs idea of a “British joke” as it’s completely wrong in a “Smashing Pumpkins” kinda way (smashing does mean good but no one has ever called boobs “Pumpkins”...Melons, maybe) |

I've heard tell the original music video consisted of Billy taking a Pop Tart for a walk in a Coffee-&-TV-esque set of scenes that ended with D'arcy quitting the band & Billiam "finding God" - arguably sadder than what was actually released
