that occurred to me, but there are no two SP releases that even come close to how incongruous the quality of Reflektor and Everything Now are. It's like if you went from Adore to Teargarden

VERY true. Major drop off there. The newest one at least would then be a big step back up, but it of course is polluted by the subject matter of this thread, sadly.

Reflektor needed to be a single and trimmed back by a few. cuts. "Afterlife" on there is top 3 songs by the band for me. That thing is amazing.

I don't think I would have liked a shorter Reflektor. I think length is perfect imho. Afterlife yes def. top 3 Arcade Fire song.

I think there is a bigger drop off in quality between Zeitgeist and Teargarden than between Reflektor and Everything Now.. it's just not as noticeable because Teargarden was so drawn out and slowly released.
