I've seen the phrase "post-punk" so many times it's lost all meaning, if it ever had meaning.

two twenty olds making themselves look reeeeeal stupid trying to look good for audience.

you guys both have cultivated taste in music. it's mind-blowing. i wish any of us had liked music 1/10 as much as you guys when we were your age.

my mind is still reeling elphenor likes gang of four. that's pretty cool dude and you should mention it every chance you get. i gotta get that list from you of what subpar bands are still okay to listen to, though.

i, too, like everything but pop-punk and country.

It's funny, I rarely paid attention to the term in my life because it seemed rather frivolous... But now after conversing with Elph it's like it's BURNED into my mind... I was chatting with some guy at a club tonight about what music he liked and when he mentioned post-punk I actually snickered at him. He shot me a confused glance and I explained why I had that reaction and he had a good laugh.

Of course. But you don't have to act like the be-all-end all any time someone wants to discuss these groups.

Strokes and Franz Ferdinald are shitty, gimmicky groups man... It's hilarious that you throw them in the same category as bands like Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Alice In Chains ETC.

Strokes and Franz have already pretty much faded into oblivion while the prior mentioned bands are still as important as ever.

You're in a band called monkey piss and you think pearl jam is still relevant. You are living Dude, Where's My Car?

At what point are you going to realize that grunge fucking sucks?

Also, I already explained to you that by basically any metric you can come up with, Franz Ferdinand are still a popular band

My problem with Fuzzy is that it's not enough for him to say "I enjoy BH Gang and I also like Sonic Youth" which would be pretty respectable

He also has to go on to say that Beck's lyrics are on the same level as like RHCP lyrics and Wire sucks and Pavement is better than The Fall and The Smiths are overrated and My Bloody Valentine are overrated and Franz Ferdinand are gimmicks etc. etc. etc.

I like Muse but I'm not pretending they're anything but dumbed down Radiohead

My problem with fuzzy is that he's an insufferable jerkoff who won't take the hint and fuck off
